This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia.
The manga series *My Hero Academia* ended last year with the completion of the Final War arc. Since then, fans have been hoping for updates on their favorite characters and what happens next. Fortunately, creator Kohei Horikoshi has delivered with plenty of extra content, including fanbooks, art books, interviews, and art shows.
Fans recently learned a lot about the characters in *My Hero Academia*, including the main character, Izuku Midoriya. Although Izuku lost his One For All quirk during the Final War, he regained the ability to be a hero thanks to a special Hero Armor. According to creator Kohei Horikoshi, Izuku can still use all of his core abilities – his armor now replicates the effects of his vestige quirks. Essentially, Izuku remains fully powered.
Izuku Midoriya Can Mimic All One For All Vestige Powers
Izuku Still Has Access To Old Abilities

- Midoriya is the No. 4 Hero right now
- Izuku could still become the Top Hero
Initially, fans were unsure how to interpret Izuku’s new armor. While they’d seen All Might’s armor during the Final War and had some idea of Izuku’s potential strength, the creator, Kohei Horikoshi, clarified that recent technological improvements made Izuku’s armor significantly more powerful.
This is the story of how we all became the greatest Heroes! — Izuku Midoriya
Horikoshi, the creator of the series, has since confirmed that Izuku’s armor allows him to replicate all the Quirks he’s previously stored. This means Izuku Midoriya can continue using abilities like Black Whip, Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Float, Gearshift, and Smokescreen thanks to his Hero Armor. Here’s how Horikoshi explained it:
Question: How does the armor that Deku received from Class A function?
This character is designed to replicate some of One For All’s powers. For instance, it uses cable-like extensions that work similarly to Black Whip. It’s also a testing ground for combining different abilities and seeing how they work together.
Izuku Midoriya Might Still Be The Strongest
He’s Rising Up The Ranks Fast

Because Izuku Midoriya’s hero suit still lets him access all of his powers, fans believe he can still use the incredible strength of One For All. This solidifies his position as one of the world’s strongest characters and keeps his dream of becoming the world’s strongest hero alive. It’s important to remember he quickly rose to become the #4 hero, even surpassing Bakugo. Because of this, many fans anticipate a future showdown between Izuku and Mirio Togata, potentially leading to Izuku claiming the title of strongest hero.

The *My Hero Academia* manga finished its run after 431 chapters, and you can read them all on Manga Plus. The anime adaptation is still ongoing and will conclude with its final season later this year, available to stream on Crunchyroll.
