Borderlands 4 features many bosses with interesting abilities, and they’re also great for getting valuable loot. Hidden throughout the world of Kairos are special areas called Bunkers, and one of them contains the boss named Fractis. This boss fight isn’t too difficult, making Fractis a good choice for quickly collecting loot and legendary items. Here’s a guide to finding Fractis and the legendary gear it can drop in BL4.
Fractis Boss Location in Borderlands 4
You can find Fractis within The Crawlcroft Order Bunker, which is located in the Worthy area of Grindstone in the Carcadia Burn region of Borderlands 4. The bunker’s entrance is inside a cave, and that cave is located within a Timekeeper army base. To find it, head to the Echo Log location shown on the map and enter the base.
When you arrive at the area, go inside the enemy base and find the cave entrance on the left. Once you see it, quickly jump down, ignoring any enemies, to find the Crawlcroft Order Bunker.
The entrance is heavily armored, like the shields Idolator Sol uses to protect himself. To open it, you’ll need to find a Locust container near the cave’s entrance and throw it at the door.
Once inside the bunker, continue down the hallways until you reach a large room filled with enemies. You can safely avoid fighting them and head straight for the slightly open doors on the other side.
The doors open onto a twisting hallway that takes you to a small command center for the Timekeeper’s army. Turn left into a corridor bathed in red light.
Walk down the hallway and crawl under the boxes to reach a small room. Climb up and continue through the hallways until you find a room with vending machines. The boss arena for Fractis is right past that room – that’s where the fight begins.
How to Beat Fractis Boss & All Legendary Drops in Borderlands 4
When the Fractis boss fight begins in *Borderlands 4*, it will protect its core with tough golden armor (shown as a blue health bar) that normal weapons can’t easily break. To get through the armor, you’ll need to use weapons that deal shock damage. Once the armor is destroyed, switch to incendiary weapons to quickly defeat Fractis’s core (indicated by a red health bar).
Stay away from Fractis’ attacks and keep moving, especially when it fires energy projectiles. Once you break its golden armor, a drone will attempt to repair Fractis and restore its health. Be sure to destroy the drone quickly to prevent the fight from dragging on.
Enemies will appear in the arena during the fight, but staying away from Fractis will make them easier to handle. If you defeat Fractis, it has a chance to drop powerful legendary items in *Borderlands 4*.
| Chuck (Assault Rifle) | Pitcher: A Tediore-manufactured assault rifle that you can throw at enemies, as it doesn’t shoot bullets. Each throw costs 10 rounds of magazine. |
|---|---|
| UAV (Throwable/Grenade) | Death from Above: After throwing the grenade at a location, it’ll call down missiles from the sky after a short delay. Yes, it also works indoors. |
| Protean Cell (Shield) | Direct Current: Ground Slam to toggle this effect. While enabled, it drains Shield over time to grant +40% Bonus Shock Damage, and Damage Taken passes through the Shield. |
