Want to know about all the weapons in Battlefield 6? It’s understandable – there are 45 to choose from, divided into eight categories! This guide will give you a complete breakdown of each weapon type, helping you pick the best gear for any combat situation you encounter in Battlefield 6 and dominate every match.
All Battlefield 6 Weapons by Type
As mentioned above, there are eight different weapon types in Battlefield 6. These are:
- Assault Rifle
- Carbine
- SMG
- LMG
- DMR
- Sniper Rifle
- Shotgun
- Pistols/ Secondary Weapons
Assault Rifle
Assault rifles are versatile weapons that perform well in many situations. While they can be used effectively at any distance, they’re particularly strong in close and medium-range combat.
There are eight assault rifles in Battlefield 6 at launch:
- M433
- B36A4
- SOR-556 MK2
- AK4D
- TR-7
- KORD 6P67
- NVO-228E
- L85A3
We listed the M433 as one of the best weapons in Battlefield 6.
Carbine
As a Battlefield fan, I’ve always thought of carbines as the best of both worlds. They’re not quite full-on assault rifles, but they’re way more than just SMGs. You get that rapid fire and agility of an SMG, but with the distance and precision of an assault rifle – perfect for close to medium-range fights. In *Battlefield 6*, there are seven different carbines to choose from, and everyone knows the M4A1 – it’s a classic!
- M4A1
- M277
- AK-205
- M417A2
- GRT-BC
- QBZ-192
- SG 553R
SMG
Submachine guns, or SMGs, are great for fast-paced, close-up fights, letting you quickly take down enemies. However, they aren’t very accurate or effective at long distances, so they’re best for players who prefer to be right in the middle of the action. There are eight different SMGs available in *Battlefield 6*.
- SGX
- PW5A3
- PW7A2
- UMG-40
- USG-90
- KV9
- SCW-10
- SL9
Similar weapons appear in other first-person shooter games, like *Call of Duty*, but might have different names. For instance, the USG-90 is frequently known as the P90.
LMG
Okay, so Light Machine Guns – those are basically bigger guns you hold and they really pack a punch from far away. The downside is, they’re kinda clunky – you move slower with them and reloading takes a while. I usually grab one when I want to lay down a ton of fire to cover my team, especially if I’m holding down a specific spot. They’re awesome for defending objectives, honestly. I don’t really like running and gunning with them, though – I prefer to stay put and provide constant cover.
There are eight LMGs in Battlefield 6. These are:
- L110
- DRS-IAR
- M60
- RPKM
- M123K
- M250
- KTS100 MK8
- M240L
DMR

Designated marksman rifles, or DMRs, bridge the gap between standard assault rifles and sniper rifles. They provide greater accuracy and power than assault rifles, but aren’t as effective at extremely long distances as a dedicated sniper rifle. Because they’re less mobile than assault rifles, DMRs are best used by players who prefer to find a good position, hold it, and eliminate enemies from a fixed location.
There are four DMRs in Battlefield 6 at launch:
- M39 EMR
- LMR27
- SVK-8.6
- SVDM
Sniper Rifle
Sniper rifles are well-known for their long-distance capabilities, offering significant range and power, though they can be a bit cumbersome to handle. In *Battlefield 6*, players have access to three different sniper rifles.
- M2010 ESR
- SV-98
- PSR
Shotgun
If you like weapons best at short distances that pack a powerful hit, the shotgun is a great choice. Remember, shotguns don’t have much range and can be slow to reload, so accuracy and getting close to your opponent are key. There are three different types of shotguns available:
- M87A1
- M1014
- 18.5KS-K
Pistols

When you run out of bullets for your main weapon, or need a quick finishing move, a pistol can be really useful. It’s not meant to be your primary weapon, but it’s always smart to have one handy for those critical situations. There are four different pistols available in *Battlefield 6*:
- P18
- ES 5.7
- M45A1
- M44
Currently, *Battlefield 6* will launch with 45 weapons, but the developers plan to add even more after the game is released.
