Tips On Clearing Dark Zones
In Dying Light: The Beast, you’ll collect lots of blueprints, and you’re likely to run out of the pages needed to learn them at some point during your playthrough.
As you play through the game, improving your blueprints is essential to stay alive. To help you with this, here’s a complete guide to finding manual pages in Dying Light: The Beast.
Remember, this isn’t a one-time task. You’ll need to repeat these steps from time to time to keep your collection of helpful information complete.
Complete Side Quests

The best way to collect Manual Pages is by completing side missions. While there’s another method, it can become quite repetitive, so it’s worth making sure you finish every side quest you encounter.
Fortunately, the game features some really engaging side quests that help flesh out both the main character, Kyle, and the game’s world. It’s definitely worth completing every side quest you find, particularly “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and “Stay Human.”
If you’re collecting Basic Manual Pages from side quests, you can improve them to Intermediate, and then upgrade those Intermediate pages to the Expert level later in the game.
Completing Dark Zones

Aside from side quests, the only place to find extra instruction manuals is by searching the Apartment dark zones.
In the image, you can identify these items on the map by looking at their “Possible Loot” section – you’ll find a manual page icon there.
Every dark zone offers unique items, so it’s a good idea to check the “Possible Loot” list before you go in to see if what you’re looking for is available.
You can find more detailed instructions for different skill levels, but I usually only found the simplest guides in those areas.
Similar to military convoys, these dark areas are refreshed with new items periodically, so check back frequently.
Tips On Clearing Dark Zones

Playing on hard mode can make fighting groups of Biters in close quarters really tough. My strategy is to prioritize quietly eliminating the Screamer – the zombie wearing a straitjacket.
Now that the Screamer is gone, you should be safe from the other Biters, as long as you leave them alone.
If you’re feeling brave, you could try exploring the Dark Zone at night – there are fewer regular zombies around then. However, the risk from the highly dangerous Volatile enemies is very high, so I wouldn’t generally recommend it. Still, taking risks can sometimes pay off.
