To unlock all the weapons in Battlefield 6, you’ll need to complete challenges. Specifically, some of the best SMGs are earned by completing Close Quarters challenges. While Battlefield 6 offers a variety of Submachine Guns, the last two are only available after you finish those Close Quarters challenges.
The SL9 and SCW-10 are both powerful submachine guns you can unlock by completing Close Quarters challenges. The SCW-10 stands out with its 10mm rounds, giving it more stopping power than other similar weapons. Here’s a guide to finishing these challenges in *Battlefield 6* and getting your hands on these SMGs.
How to Complete Battlefield 6 Close Quarters Challenges
In *Battlefield 6*, Close Quarters challenges require you to earn kills with SMGs while meeting certain requirements during multiplayer games. These weapon-specific challenges become available once you reach Rank 23, so you’ll need to play and gain experience before you can start completing them.
To see how you’re doing in the Close Quarters challenge, go to the Challenges section on the main menu. Look under Assignments, then select Weapon.
Here are all the Close Quarters challenge requirements in Battlefield 6.
Challenge | Requirements | Reward |

Submachine guns are best used in close-combat situations, and the Close Quarters challenges focus on exactly that. To complete these challenges efficiently, it’s best to stick to smaller maps and avoid large, expansive game modes.
To quickly earn SMG kills, try fast-paced modes like Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Escalation, which focus on close-range combat. If you’re having trouble getting multiple kills at once, smaller objective-based modes like Rush can be helpful, as players tend to gather around the objectives. You can also customize your multiplayer search by excluding specific maps and game modes you don’t want to play.

I’m really glad the Close Quarters challenge isn’t too difficult! Compared to some of the other weapon challenges in *Battlefield 6*, it feels pretty manageable. The toughest part is definitely getting multi-kills, but thankfully you only need 20 of them. And the best part? You can play as any class you like if you jump into an open weapon playlist, which makes it way easier to complete!
