Best Megabonk Characters, Ranked (All Characters Tier List)

Megabonk features 20 characters, but most are initially locked and need to be unlocked as you play. Each character begins with a specific weapon and a special ability that improves their stats as they level up. However, even with regular game updates to ensure fairness, some characters are consistently more powerful than others.

While you *can* beat Megabonk with any character – the game’s randomness will eventually get you a strong setup – some characters make it much easier to reach the late game. They’ll have a significantly smoother time finishing Tier 3, getting to the final stage, and defeating the boss.

This Megabonk tier list ranks all 20 characters from best to worst, considering how well they improve as the game goes on, their starting abilities, and other important qualities.

S Tier Megabonk Characters

Calcium, Bandit, Dicehead, & Robinette

Calcium, Bandit, Dicehead, and Robinette are considered the strongest characters in *Megabonk*. They all excel because they become significantly more powerful as the game progresses – meaning they ‘scale’ well. This is why they’re ranked so highly on a list of the best *Megabonk* characters.

  • Calcium’s passive increases his damage based on current movement speed, which can be pushed to ridiculous heights by the third stage.
  • Dicehead’s passive was absolutely busted in the launch version of the game, but remains an extremely strong ability if you can get a lot of XP gain early.
  • Bandit’s Dexecutioner proc occurs more often as you increase Attack Speed (and get some Joe’s Dagger items).
  • Robinette’s Bow is great for clearing waves, but her passive becomes more and more powerful the further into the game you get. By the third stage, with tens of thousands of Gold on hand, she can pump out gamebreaking damage numbers.

Calcium

  • “An undead shredder who pulls off the sickest tricks.”

    Calcium Starting Weapon: Bone

Throws bones that bounce off enemies.

    Calcium Passive Ability: Speed Demon

Speed builds up over time, but is halved when you take damage. Also gain damage based on speed.

Bandit

  • “A sneaky lad with a sharp sword.”

    Bandit Starting Weapon: Dexecutioner

A piercing blade. Small chance to instantly execute an enemy.

    Bandit Passive Ability: Flowstate

Gain 1% Attack Speed per level.

Dicehead

  • “His favorite number is 7. Who’s gonna tell him the bad news?”

Roll the dice and upgrade a random stat when you level up.

  • “Steals from the poor, gives to the rich.”

    Robinette Starting Weapon: Bow

    Robinette Passive Ability: Stonks

Gain 1% Gold Gain per level. Also increase Damage slightly by total Gold in inventory.

A Tier Megabonk Characters

CL4NK, Megachad, Monke, Sir Oofie

While the four A Tier characters aren’t bad in *Megabonk*, they aren’t as strong as the top-tier classes, especially when it comes to how well they improve over time. If you focus on what each of these characters does best, you can comfortably reach Stage 3, though it won’t be quite as easy as playing as an S Tier character.

  • CL4NK has the potential to deal insane damage if you can build into his Crit Chance and get synergistic weapons for his starting Revolver
  • Megachad might be slow, but getting close-range weapons like Frostwalker and Firewalker ensures enemies will have a tough time breaking through.
  • Monke is a monke… and his ability to climb walls comes in handy during swarms, plus the Bananarang is a top-tier starting weapon.
  • Sir Oofie can become nigh-indestructible if you build into his Armor stat, Thorns, and upgrade his Sword quickly, but a slow start can sentence doom.

CL4NK

  • “I don’t know how to pronounce his name.”

    CL4NK Starting Weapon: Revolver

    Fires multiple bullets at enemies.

    CL4NK Passive Ability: Crit Happens

Gain 1% Crit Chance per level.

Megachad

  • “He wields the perfect, most powerful jawline.”

    Megachad Starting Weapon: Aura

Damages enemies in an area around you.

    Megachad Passive Ability: Flex

Stops damage and stuns enemies. Decreases cooldown by 0.2s per level.

Monke

  • “No one knows where he got the shades. No one asks.”

    Monke Starting Weapon: Bananarang

Throws bananas that return to the owner.

    Monke Passive Ability: Monke Grip

Climb up walls. Also gain +2 Max HP per level.

Sir Oofie

  • “He’s slow, but his armor makes him pretty chunky.”

    Sir Oofie Starting Weapon: Sword

    Slashes through multiple enemies.

    Sir Oofie Passive Ability: Reinforced

    Gain 1% Armor per level.

B Tier Megabonk Characters

Athena, Bush, Tony McZoom, Vlad

Following the strongest characters in *Megabonk* are those who can be defeated, but aren’t quite as powerful as the top-tier options. These B-Tier characters should get you to Stage 3 without too much trouble, though your experience won’t be as smooth as playing with higher-ranked characters.

Despite being a bit more challenging to build effectively, characters like Vlad and Athena are still fan favorites in *Megabonk*. With some effort, specific builds, and a little luck, they can become incredibly strong and even beat the final boss, though it’s generally harder to achieve than with the top-tier characters.

Athena

  • “Captain America but ordered from Temu (with a 23% discount).”

    Athena Starting Weapon: Aegis

Blocks incoming attacks and sends out shockwaves.

    Athena Passive Ability: Lock In

Deal more damage on lower HP. Gain 2 Thorns per level.

Bush

  • “Just a normal bush. Nothing to see here.”

    Bush Starting Weapon: Sniper Rifle

Fires piercing bullets. Can be manually aimed.

    Bush Passive Ability: Bullseye

Random enemies are marked. Also gain 0.5% Crit Damage per level.

Tony McZoom

  • “Tony didn’t choose the hoverboard – the hoverboard chose him.”

Tony McZoom Starting Weapon: Wireless Dagger

Throw smart daggers at your enemies. Wireless tech goes crazy these days.

    Tony McZoom Passive Ability: Zap

Charge an electric attack by moving around. Gain 2% Pickup Range per level.

Vlad

  • He might look intimidating, but he’s a genuinely kind person. He’s always friendly and says hello when we see each other at the grocery store – just a really laid-back guy.

    Vlad Starting Weapon: Blood Magic

Summons blood magic. 5% chance to increase Max HP upon killing enemies.

    Vlad Passive Ability: Vampire

    Gain 1% Lifesteal per level.

C Tier Megabonk Characters

Amog, Birdo, Fox, Ninja, Noelle, Ogre, Sir Chadwell, Spaceman

While no characters in *Megabonk* are truly *bad*, some are more challenging to use than others. They might start with a weak weapon, lack a helpful ability, or require specific item combinations to become really powerful.

As a Spaceman main, I’ve learned he really needs to get a good setup going with items like Black Hole early on. If he doesn’t find some strong weapons and upgrades to back it up, he’s mostly just pushing people around! And Birdo? Everyone thinks his Tornado starter is awful, but honestly, it works *so* well with the Scarf item. Getting that extra damage while flying really lets his passive shine.

While these characters can be helpful for specific challenges or unlocking content in *Megabonk*, they aren’t the easiest to play. If you’re looking for a character who can comfortably reach the final boss, you might want to choose someone else.

Amog

  • “No one knows his real name. Everyone just started calling him Amog, and he never corrected them.”

    Amog Starting Weapon: Poison Flask

Throws toxic flasks at enemies, dealing area damage and poisoning them.

    Amog Passive Ability: Plague

Poisoned enemies explode on death, poisoning nearby enemies.

Birdo

  • “The glasses are for your safety, not his.”

    Birdo Starting Weapon: Tornado

Sends out tornadoes, knocking enemies back.

    Birdo Passive Ability: Float

Hold Jump to float in the air.

Fox

  • “Quick on his feet and unnaturally lucky.”

    Fox Starting Weapon: Firestaff

Shoots fireballs that explode on impact.

    Fox Passive Ability: RNG Blessing

    Gain 1% Luck per level.

Ninja

  • “Very fast and elusive. Hasn’t filed his taxes since 2014. He’s cooked.”

    Ninja Starting Weapon: Katana

A sharp blade that targets the closest enemy.

    Ninja Passive Ability: Shadowstep

Execute an enemy upon evading them. Also gain 0.5% evasion per level.

Noelle

  • “The Megabonk Discord bullied me into creating this character.”

    Noelle Starting Weapon: Frostwalker

Freezes and damages enemies in an area around you.

    Noelle Passive Ability: Enduring

    Gain 1% Duration per level.

  • “Big and strong, with the critical thinking skills of a wet sock.”

Spaceman Passive Ability: Quantum XP Theory

Gain 1.5% XP Gain per level.
