Modern Warfare 3 See’s Influx in Cheaters Following Xbox Game Pass Debut

As a dedicated fan of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, I’ve been disheartened by the recent surge of cheaters that have infiltrated the game since it became available on Xbox Game Pass. According to trusted sources like CharlieINTEL, this influx is causing noticeable disruption in the gaming community.

Since its release on Xbox Game Pass, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has experienced a surge in the number of players using unauthorized advantages.

According to a report from CharlieINTel on Call of Duty X’s handle, formerly Twitter (now referred to as CharlieINTEl), there has been a surge of cheaters detected since the game became available on Game Pass. A notable sign of these cheaters is their display of an Xbox logo in the game lobby.

Activision has remained silent on the rise in cheaters in the game. With the recent addition of the game to Game Pass, which boasts around 34 million users as of February 2024, it’s no surprise that more cheaters might emerge. The challenge now is effectively banning and keeping them out.

Prior to Modern Warfare 3’s launch, Activision disclosed that its anti-cheat system, Ricochet, employed machine learning and both client-side and server-side technology to adapt and expand in combating cheats. In the time leading up to Modern Warfare 3, Ricochet banned approximately 80,000 accounts during Modern Warfare 2 (a ban total of 80,000 over a period of 12 months).

It’s likely that Activision will publish a blog entry in the near future discussing their approach to addressing cheating, as well as the number of recently banned players.

For now, though, players of Modern Warfare 3 will have to endure the influx of new cheaters.
