Following the news that future downloadable content for MK1 was cancelled—reportedly because the ‘Khaos Reigns’ expansion didn’t perform well with either sales numbers or fan reception—players were eager to know what NetherRealm had planned next for the Mortal Kombat series. The wait for 007 First Light is almost over, with the game now scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026, after a brief postponement.
