Xbox Game Pass New Games for August 2024 Wish List

Highlights

  • Xbox Game Pass faced backlash, but July lineup impressed with day-one releases and new additions.
  • August lineup includes promising titles like Creatures of Ava and Core Keeper to maintain momentum.
  • Fans hope for big hits like Kena: Bridge of Spirits and classic Call of Duty titles to join Game Pass soon.

As a dedicated Xbox gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of ups and downs when it comes to Xbox Game Pass. July’s lineup was a breath of fresh air after the initial backlash following price hikes and limited day-one access. With impressive additions like “Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn,” “Dungeons of Hinterberg,” and “Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess,” Xbox Game Pass proved its worth once again.

Over the past few weeks, Xbox Game Pass has faced some criticism from fans following price increases and restricted access to day-one titles. In response, Xbox needed to demonstrate the value of its subscription service, which it successfully accomplished with an impressive lineup in July. Notable additions included new releases like “Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn,” “Dungeons of Hinterberg,” and “Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.” Additionally, the first “Call of Duty” game joined the service. Xbox Game Pass has had a strong month, but it must continue to deliver to maintain this positive momentum.

In August 2024, Xbox Game Pass has only announced three new additions: “Creatures of Ava,” “Core Keeper,” and “Sopa.” To maintain subscriber satisfaction, Xbox Game Pass should introduce more notable titles this month.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

As a passionate gamer, I’m excited to share that Aspyr is releasing their latest Star Wars game, “Star Wars: Bounty Hunter,” on consoles and PC on August 1. I really hope this becomes an Xbox Game Pass title because it could be a fantastic addition to the platform. However, I must admit that Aspyr hasn’t had the best run with the Star Wars franchise lately. Their last attempt, the “Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection,” didn’t go as smoothly as we all hoped when it first launched. Thus, making this game available day and date on Xbox Game Pass could help rebuild trust in their abilities as a developer.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Initially launched in September 2021 for PlayStation and PC, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an enchanting Indie title with action-adventure gameplay seen from a third-person perspective. Starting August 15, this captivating game will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. With a considerable level of popularity among Indie games, it’s rather unusual that Kena: Bridge of Spirits isn’t yet officially confirmed for Xbox Game Pass. Given its fitting characteristics for games that generally flourish on this subscription service, joining Xbox Game Pass would significantly expand the game’s fanbase and represent a considerable attraction for the service itself, which could benefit immensely from such an addition in August.

2013’s Deadpool

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but be drawn to the buzz surrounding “Deadpool and Wolverine,” despite its mixed critical reception. The opportunity to embody the wise-cracking antics of Deadpool in a video game is an allure that many fans, including myself, cannot resist. Sadly, Deadpool’s sole standalone game has been removed from online storefronts twice over the years, making it a pricey collectible. However, this title was initially published by Activision, which is now under Microsoft’s ownership. It may be an uphill battle filled with legal hurdles, but the prospect of experiencing High Noon Studios’ “Deadpool” on Xbox Game Pass would undoubtedly be a dream come true for fans like me.

Classic Call of Duty Titles

The long-awaited arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox Game Pass now opens the door for more Call of Duty games to join the lineup. While the latest releases such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard are desirable, fans are clamoring for older titles like the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trilogy and the entire Call of Duty: Black Ops series to be added. It seems that their time may have come at last.
