In Battlefield 6, the Engineer class doesn’t just fix and destroy vehicles. They also excel at controlling areas with mines, eliminating enemy cover using rocket launchers, and providing general support with their EOD Bot.
Battlefield 6’s new gadgets and improved Specialist system give Engineer players more ways to play than ever before. This guide will help you choose the best equipment for the Engineer class and tailor your loadout to fit your preferred playstyle.
The Tank Hunter
Best Anti-Tank Engineer Build in Battlefield 6
Weapons | Any medium-long range weapon |
Gadget 1 | RPG-7V2 or SLM93A Spire |
Gadget 2 | AV Mines or Acoustic Sensor AV Mines |
Grenade | AV Grenades |
Field Spec | Anti-Armor |
As a Battlefield 6 player, I’ve noticed vehicles are *everywhere* in the All Out Warfare modes! It’s my job as a specialist with anti-vehicle weapons to deal with those tanks, IFVs, and helicopters. When I take them out, it really lets the rest of my team focus on what *they’re* good at, which is awesome.
We recommend the RPG-7V2 rocket launcher for this setup because you don’t need to lock onto targets before firing. Unlike the MBT Law, it can hit vehicles from the sides and rear, which can be a big advantage if you get into a good position. The M136 AT Aim-Guided Launcher is okay, but it takes longer to unlock as you progress through the Engineer class.
Your standard anti-vehicle mines are pretty effective at slowing down enemy attacks. If the enemy keeps destroying your mines, try using the Acoustic Sensor Mines instead. These launch attacks from above, and you can place them off-road in areas where tanks won’t expect them.
If the opposing team controls the air, use the Spire AA launcher to defend against helicopters and jets. If your teammates are using the Laser Designator or Tracer Dart to spot enemies, the Glaive is a good choice for taking out tanks from a distance.
Vehicle Support Crew
Best Support Engineer Build in Battlefield 6
Weapons | Any medium-long range weapon |
Gadget 1 | AT Rocket Launcher |
Gadget 2 | Vehicle Supply Crate/EOD Bot |
Grenade | Mini Frag Grenades |
Field Spec | Combat Engineer |
Most Engineers naturally fall into a simple playstyle: staying close to their vehicle and constantly repairing it. Support your teammates by using the Vehicle Supply Crate to reload their tanks, and when you’re not repairing, use your rocket launcher to damage enemy vehicles.
If you’re playing with a team, bringing an EOD Bot along with the Vehicle Supply Crate can be really helpful. It lets you support your team in two locations at once, as long as you can talk to your tank drivers. Simply position the EOD Bot near your teammate’s vehicle and leave it there to provide repairs when needed. You can also use the bot to lay mines and take out enemy gadgets.
When you’re not fixing vehicles, help your teammates by providing covering fire with your weapons and Mini Frag Grenades. These smaller grenades have a longer throw range and you can carry more of them, although they don’t do as much damage as standard grenades. Use them to force enemies out of their hiding spots whenever possible. If you’re repairing a tank, ask a Support player to drop an ammo crate nearby so you can quickly reload your grenades and rockets.
Remember to use your Thermal Overdrive when your tanks are getting heavily damaged. It will help protect them!
Why No SMGs?
Although Engineers are known for using SMGs, we don’t recommend them if you want to support vehicles. Tanks and armored vehicles usually fight at distances too far for SMGs to be effective. If you’re sticking with a vehicle, a machine gun, DMR, or sniper rifle will be much more helpful to your team.
