Dr Disrespect Was Just ‘An Influencer’ For Midnight Society, Studio Claims

As a dedicated fan of Dr Disrespect, I’ve followed his entertaining and captivating streams for years. His unique personality and gaming skills have always made for an enjoyable viewing experience. However, the recent news about his ban from Twitch due to messaging a minor in 2017 has left me feeling disappointed and saddened.

1. After taking a trip with his family, the online streamer known as Dr Disrespect remains absent from the web, following a controversy that emerged approximately one month ago. A surprising development was disclosed revealing that Twitch had banned Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm in 2020 due to an incident back in 2017 where he sent inappropriate messages to a minor on the platform intentionally.

After this announcement broke, I learned that I had lost my position with Midnight Society. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, this was the case. In an interview, Robert Bowling of Midnight Society clarified the true nature of Dr Disrespect’s alleged involvement in the ‘Deadrop’ extraction shooter project.

Just an Influencer

Robert Bowling reassured Bloomberg that Dr Disrespect was merely a promoter for the Deadrop project. Since its announcement, Dr Disrespect has been deeply engaged in the game’s promotion, using his influence to market it and keeping fans apprised of the progress on this intriguing extractive shooter.

In the interview, Bowling explained:

His job as an influencer was to bring eyeballs and community to it.

As a gamer, I was told that they wanted me on their team because of my large following. With over 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube, I could help bring in a bigger audience.

After the accusations against Dr Disrespect surfaced online, Bowling and Beahm had an urgent conversation. During this call, Beahm openly confessed to having sent messages to a minor on Twitch back in 2017.

1. After discussing thoroughly with everyone involved, we came to the conclusion that our decision was correct. We established our shared values and guidelines as a studio, but his actions contradict those principles.

1. We’re unsure if and when we might see Dr Disrespect again. If he makes a comeback, it’s speculated that he could change his brand or move to another platform such as Kick. The main question is, will he return with anything substantial in place?
