As someone who has spent countless hours shiny hunting fossil Pokémon in various games, I can wholeheartedly attest to the effectiveness and appeal of each method presented here. However, my personal favorite has to be the Masuda Method.

For those on Nintendo Switch, the Sinnoh Grand Underground serves as an ideal location for the search.

Some games are optimized when restarting with five fossils, while others like Pokémon XY and Let’s Go benefit from having as many fossils as you can find. To obtain fossil Pokémon, simply gather enough of your chosen Pokémon’s fossil items, then save the game just before reviving them. This is typically an effortless step that involves checking either the team summary or PC for the rare finds. As this is the standard method for getting fossil Pokémon, whether they are shiny or not, it’s commonly used for hunting shinies as it aligns well with the theme of these extinct creatures and their aesthetic appeal.

5 Masuda Method

The Guaranteed Option
