Animal Crossing Player Finds Long Lost Item After 10 Years

Highlights

  • One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player waited 10 years to find the Halo cosmetic item, finally spotting it in the game.
  • While trading with players can speed up item acquisition, the joy of finding the desired item in the shop as intended is fulfilling for some gamers.

As a seasoned Animal Crossing gamer with a decade-long obsession, I can wholeheartedly empathize with No_Law6676’s epic quest for the elusive Halo cosmetic item. The thrill of discovering rare items in the rotating shop list is unparalleled, especially when you’ve waited an entire decade like this dedicated player did!

After a long decade of patiently waiting, I, an ardent Animal Crossing: New Horizons player, finally stumbled upon the elusive Halo cosmetic item. Time seems to pass leisurely as new items keep showing up at Nook’s Cranny and the Able Sisters shops, but today, after 10 years, I laid my eyes on the Halo hat – a sight I had not seen since my early days in this virtual world.

In the spirit of its predecessors, I’ve found that Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to delight with a daily rotating selection at Nook’s Cranny. This charming shop offers four new pieces of furniture every day, and some items seem to pop up more frequently than others. Previously, players could expand the size of Nook’s Cranny numerous times, boosting the variety of goods on offer. However, in New Horizons, there’s just one upgrade for the store.

Reddit user No_Law6676 recently posted a snapshot from their Animal Crossing: New Horizons Able Sisters shop. The picture highlights the Halo hat item, known as Aureola in Italian, which seems to be the language of this island. According to the Reddit user, they started searching for the Halo way back in 2014 on the Wii when they first saw it, but had to restart their village due to their efforts to obtain Apples as their primary fruit in Animal Crossing: City Folk. They persistently reset the game until achieving the desired village setup. Unfortunately, they couldn’t transfer the Halo from one save file to another, losing the item for years. It wasn’t until this year in New Horizons that they spotted it again.

This Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Finally Found the Halo

Numerous “Animal Crossing” enthusiasts eagerly seek a specific item, either by being patient, using time travel or buying from other online players. These items might complete a collection, enhance their home decor, or be part of their character’s wardrobe like the Halo. While trading with others can expedite the process, some find the thrill of waiting for the shop to restock more satisfying. User No_Law6676 fell in love with the Halo in 2014 and was devastated when they lost it. When it reappeared in their Able Sisters store, they were ecstatic and probably bought it for 2,220 “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” coins.

As a devoted fan, I opted to purchase the Halo in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” instead of trading for it, choosing to honor the developers’ vision. Given the game’s infrequent updates and scarcity of new items, I plan on wearing this Halo until a potential successor is introduced.
