At first glance, CloverPit seems like a straightforward roguelite where you play a slot machine to pay off debt. However, it quickly becomes clear that there’s a lot of strategic depth hidden beneath the surface. A standout feature is the Memory Card system, found in Memory Packs, which offers a unique way to progress. These cards don’t just modify your stats – they fundamentally alter how the game works. Once unlocked, each playthrough becomes a fresh experiment, allowing you to customize the difficulty and create unpredictable runs based on the cards you choose.
All Memory Cards in CloverPit & What They Do
Memory Card | What it Does |
---|---|
Erased Memory Card | No special effects. You’ll start with a normal run. |
Overdose | For the rest of the run, Lucky Charms triggered by the red button will be activated one extra time, but they no longer recharge after each round ends. |
Desperate Search | Throughout the run, the store will only have 3 charms instead of 4. However, you’ll start every deadline with 2 free restocks. |
Fixation | Each deadline will now include 7 rounds, but every round only gives 1 spin (unless it gets modified by other effects). Completing a deadline grants only 2 Tickers per round skipped. |
Screen Addiction | Every deadline will have just 1 round, but you can choose up to 21 spins at the start. Rounds also yield more Tickets. You begin with 27 coins and 5 Tickets. |
Cold Affection | Start the run with 12 Tickets, but you’ll stop earning Tickets at the end of rounds (unless another effect changes this). |
Old Wounds | Each time you get a Memory Pack, you’ll receive an additional one as a bonus. |
Bullies’ Favourite | At the end of every deadline, if you have 6 or more charms equipped, one random charm is discarded, and you gain 2 free restocks at the store. |
Delusions of Grandeur | With this card, the debt goal doubles for the entire run. If you manage to open the door, you’ll earn a golden knob for your slot machine (unless you already own one). |
Important Choice | For the rest of the run, choosing the “most spins” option doubles the chance of 666 appearing that round, while choosing the “fewer spins” option halves it. |
Recovery Attempts | 666 has twice the normal appearance rate. Whenever you hit a jackpot, all coins lost to 666 during that round are refunded. |
Life Lessons | After every deadline, one random charm on the table gains the Devious Trait (+0.6% chance to get a 666). Additionally, a random charm inside a drawer receives a random new trait. |
A New Investment | You earn +2% interest after every deadline (up to a 16% max) throughout the run. Interest payouts will only be earned when a deadline ends. |
Sacrifices | Your run begins with just 6 Lucky Charm slots, but every charm in the store permanently costs 1 less for the entire run. |
Let’s Go Gambling | After each deadline, there’s a 50% chance that all charms in drawers are discarded, or that every one of them gains a random trait. |
Class Dunce | Two random symbols immediately have their chances cut in half, then the run begins. |
Heartbreak | Starting from the third deadline, the final round of every deadline is guaranteed to include at least one 666. |
Repressed Emotions | Certain predefined charms will be banned for the rest of the run. You can check the terminal to see which ones. |
First Love | Phone abilities trigger one extra time during the run, but when a deadline begins, the store will always be empty. |
Expensive Love | Every charm in the store comes with a random compatible trait. You will also start the run with 4 Tickets. |
How to Get More Memory Packs in CloverPit
You’ll be able to get Memory Packs a few hours into the game, once you understand how debt works and have opened your second drawer – this drawer is for storing charms or body parts. After that, you’ll see a Memory Pack dangling from the claw machine in your cell.
You can unlock the Memory Pack by saving up enough coins to completely cover your next payment before it’s due. If you do, you’ll get an offer at the beginning of the next round: pay the full amount right away and receive a Memory Pack with three random Memory Cards.
After unlocking your first Memory Pack, you can use Memory Cards to get a helpful boost at the start of each new game. Before you begin a run, you’ll be able to pick one card from those you’ve collected.
