The boosted shiny odds for certain Pokémon never fail to get me excited! This August, with Adventure Week 2024 just around the corner, it’s time to dust off those Super Incubators and prepare for a shiny hunting marathon!
In the live-service game, Pokemon GO, fresh and returning activities are regularly added for players to engage with. These activities offer a variety of benefits like increased appearance of event Pokemons, Eggs, Raids, Research Missions and Collection Tasks, as well as unique encounters.
The Adventure Week event in the game is scheduled to return again in August 2024. During this period, certain Pokemon will have increased chances of appearing as shinies when encountered. As a seasoned Pokemon trainer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon have significantly increased in recent updates. Not only are the chances boosted in 7km Egg hatch encounters and Field Research encounters, but utilizing both methods is key for the best chance at securing one. However, it’s important to note that these rare Pokemon can only be found as baby or first-stage forms in the egg hatches, which unfortunately limits their availability during Adventure Week. This means that if you want to try your luck at catching a shiny, you’ll need to focus on these two methods exclusively. I have personally had some success using this strategy, and I hope it brings you as much joy and excitement as it has for me!

, this can be a brilliant chance to use them, as they decrease the amount of distance needed to hatch an Egg. If you’re going to be shiny hunting during Adventure Week, you’ll need to hatch as many eggs as possible, so a few Super Incubators may be a worthwhile investment.
During the Adventure Week 2024 event, running from August 2nd at 10 AM local time to August 12th at 11:59 PM local time, I’m excited to share that there will be increased chances of encountering Fossil Pokémon from different generations! This event promises a wealth of repetitive encounters and egg-hatching opportunities. With these numerous interactions, you’ll surely accumulate a substantial amount of Candies. This could potentially enable you to evolve any new shiny Pokémon you might catch during the event!
