Fan-favorite Warzone SMG meta again after Superi 46 destroyed by nerfs

As an old-timer in the Call of Duty: Warzone battlefield, I’ve seen my fair share of SMG metas come and go. But the latest shift, with the Superi 46 taking a backseat and the VEL 46 (a.k.a. the MP7) stepping into the spotlight, feels like a breath of fresh air.

Since its introduction, the Superi 46 has been the most favored Submachine Gun in Warzone. However, it received significant reductions in the July 30 update, affecting both its maximum and mid damage range. This adjustment has created a void at the top of the SMG gameplay, paving the way for a legendary MW2 weapon to shine and demonstrate its capabilities.

After being less popular for quite a while, the VEL 46, or MP7, seems poised to make a comeback in the game following adjustments that have weakened the current leading choice.

As a gamer, I can say this bad boy boasts a rapid-fire mechanism, manageable recoil, and a competitive damage span, which makes it an ideal substitute for my trusty Superi. To top it off, it’s been beefed up with buffs to its damage and multipliers in the Season 5 update, turning it into a formidable foe on the battlefield.

Compared to Superi, the VEL 46’s Time To Kill (TTK) values, as determined by TrueGameData, show a remarkable resemblance. The VEL 46 outperforms its competitor at a distance of 20 meters and maintains this advantage from 42 meters onward.

When using the VEL 46 in Warzone, I found it to be exceptional at close to mid-range distances, which is exactly what you want for a replacement. The iconic MP7 also has a larger base magazine size of 40 rounds, a faster fire rate, and faster ADS speed, cementing it as the new go-to SMG in Warzone.

The primary attraction of the Superi 46 lay in its rapid strafing ability, swift movement speed, and extensive damage range. Fortunately, the MP7 shares many of these qualities, boasting comparable statistics when it comes to agility and maneuverability.

In a video posted on July 31st, well-known YouTube personality FaZe Swagg showcased his thoughts on the VEL 46 weapon, following recent balance updates, after comparing it to another firearm.

In simpler terms, the live streamer criticized the Superi as being “like dog waste,” but went on to secure a 22-kill win using the VEL. Swagg strongly suggested employing the Quartermaster Suppressor, as it enhances its effectiveness in mid-range battles.

As an enthusiast, I too have discovered the strategic brilliance of coupling the SMG with the STG44. The former excels in close combat, while the latter shines in those extended skirmishes. This dynamic duo empowers me to rule each and every battlefield range in the game.

As a enthusiast, I can’t help but sing praises for the MP7, particularly in smaller maps like Resurgence. If you’ve fully upgraded this beauty and are seeking a fresh SMG to rule over Rebirth Island or Superstore, it’s definitely worth a spin!
