As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing virtual landscapes and battling formidable foes, I find myself intrigued by this recent development in Palworld. The appearance of a new NPC, the Cautious PIDF Officer, without any prior mention in the patch notes, adds an air of mystery that piques my curiosity.
It appears that a fresh Non-Player Character (NPC) has been introduced in Palworld, which was not previously mentioned in the recent patch notes from the publishers and developers, Pocketpair. Over the summer, there have been many updates within Palworld, one of them being a new Syndicate stronghold filled with hostile adversaries. Interestingly, this enigmatic yet amiable NPC seems to be directly connected to this specific area.
As a devoted fan, I was thrilled when the Sakurajima Update for Palworld dropped on June 27, bringing a multitude of fresh elements to the game. It introduced 14 brand-new Pals and 10 fusion Pals into the mix. This substantial content update also opened up new avenues for exploration, such as the enchanting island of Sakurajima, the Arena nestled within the Dessicated Desert, and the Oil Rig stronghold controlled by Rayne Syndicate, positioned off the eastern coast of Marsh Island.
A more recent update introduced a new character, the Cautious PIDF Officer, who alerts players about a hidden stronghold’s location. Reddit user 7max-er noticed that this NPC appears on Marsh Island, although it wasn’t mentioned in the game’s latest patch notes. Players can interact with the officer, who advises them to stay away from the Oil Rig in the distance, built by the Syndicate and known to be dangerous. The officer is stationed near the fast-travel point on Marsh Island.
New Palworld NPC Warns Players About The Oil Rig Stronghold
Although the officer’s specific role in the game isn’t clearly defined, it seems he may be warning certain players that the Oil Rig could pose an excessive risk for them due to its high level of danger. The Marsh Island is generally suitable for lower-level players, but the challenge escalates significantly upon reaching the Oil Rig, if players can even get there. Encountering Syndicate Gunners and Grenadiers without advanced combat equipment and powerful Pals makes the situation challenging. Players with insufficient stamina might drown while trying to swim to the Oil Rig, and a potent laser defense system targets flying mounts, knocking players out of the sky.
In the latest update for Palworld version 0.3.4, released on July 29, the game developers have acknowledged the danger of the Oil Rig Stronghold but also reduced its difficulty level slightly. This adjustment is not detailed, but it’s clear that the enemies’ firepower has been diminished in this location. Furthermore, the update fixes a bug that was causing the treasure chest on the Oil Rig to vanish for certain players.
