Battlefield 6 Considering Changes to Weapon Bloom

The team behind Battlefield 6 is looking into adjusting how weapons behave when firing. Players have been experimenting with the game and have noticed some inconsistencies with how accurately shots land, and a developer has acknowledged this issue.

As a long-time Battlefield player, I’ve dealt with weapon bloom since Battlefield 3. Basically, it’s that spread you get when you keep firing, making it harder to stay accurate the longer you hold down the trigger. Now, in Battlefield 6, it feels… off. A lot of us are noticing it’s either not working right, or it’s just way too strong, making it really tough to land consistent shots.

Battlefield 6 Devs Respond to Bloom Concerns

Streamer TacticalBrit posted a video on Twitter showing a problem with bloom – the visual effect that makes bullets spread out – in *Battlefield 6*. They demonstrated that shots which should have hit their target weren’t connecting, suggesting a bug with how bloom resets after each shot. Florian Le Bihan, a lead designer on the game, responded saying that while a previous bloom bug was fixed, they’ve found two new issues affecting bullet spread. The development team is now investigating these new bugs and working on adjustments to how bloom and bullet spread function.

Florian reports that the developer is fixing bloom issues in the upcoming *Battlefield 6*. While a timeline for the fix isn’t available, another bug has been discovered: shots appear to hit enemies with blood splatters, but actually do no damage. The developers are asking players who’ve encountered this damage registration problem to provide feedback so they can resolve it.

Battlefield 6 has generally been well-received by both players and critics, though there’s still some work to be done. To reach its goal of 100 million players, the developers need to quickly address and fix problems as they arise. They’ve already impressed fans by swiftly resolving issues like login problems with the EA App and offering compensation to affected players. Hopefully, the current bloom issue will be fixed soon, as it can significantly affect a player’s performance in matches.
