Pokémon Center Cancelling Some Legends: Z-A Pre-Orders

Many Pokémon fans were upset to learn their pre-orders for Pokémon Legends: Z-A were cancelled by the Pokémon Center.

The new game arrives on Nintendo Switch October 16th, bringing players back to Lumiose City in the Kalos region. It introduces a fresh battle system with action happening in real-time.

Just two days before the game launched, some fans who pre-ordered from the Pokémon Center found their orders unexpectedly cancelled. Most of those affected haven’t received an explanation for the cancellations.

Pokémon Center Legends: Z-A Cancellations Reported

A Reddit user initially reported that two pre-orders from the Pokémon Center were cancelled for no apparent reason, and they even shared a picture of the plush toy they were promised as a pre-order bonus.

I started seeing a ton of comments from other fans who said their pre-orders had been cancelled, which was super frustrating. Some people said the website couldn’t approve their payment, even though they’d already been charged! Others were told the item was actually oversold – can you believe it? It’s a mess!

To make things even more confusing, some people who cancelled their pre-orders for Pokémon Legends: Z-A are seeing that their cancellation is showing as ‘received,’ which means the system still thinks the pre-order is active.

Right now, it looks like the problem is limited to pre-orders made through the Pokémon Center. We don’t know why these orders are being cancelled, but with the game coming out very soon, it’s really frustrating for players who were excited to start playing right away.

We’ve contacted Pokémon for a statement and will update this article if they respond.
