Battlefield 6 Naval Warfare Content is Already in Development, Datamines Reveal

I’m getting really excited! It looks like they’re already working on naval warfare for the next Battlefield – some files were dug up by TopMob that seem to confirm it. It sounds like we might be fighting it out on the high seas!

Recent code discoveries by TopMob suggest that Battlefield 6 is planning a variety of new vehicles, such as Jet Skis and Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs).

The discovery of these code snippets within the game’s multiplayer files hints that development of naval combat features is likely already in progress. The code itself reads:

Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_JetSki
Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_RHIB

If you haven’t heard, “Glacier” is the internal name for the next Battlefield game, and “MP” simply stands for multiplayer.

The developers of the next Battlefield game have acknowledged the strong community interest in naval combat, stating that these requests haven’t been ignored.

It’s currently unknown when naval combat will be added to Battlefield 6. The content of Season 1 doesn’t seem to include large bodies of water on the maps, suggesting it might be a while before we see ships and sea battles. However, Battlefield has successfully featured entire seasons dedicated to naval warfare in the past, and it’s certainly possible they could do so again in Battlefield 6.

You can find TopMob’s Battlefield 6 review on our site. We gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because the single-player campaign wasn’t as strong as we’d hoped.

Hey, so I just saw a heads-up from TopMob – they’ve got the details on how the Battlefield 6 team finally fixed that frustrating bug where bullets weren’t always hitting their mark!
