Could MLB The Show Be Coming To PC?

There’s growing speculation that Sony’s popular baseball game, MLB The Show, might finally be coming to PC. This comes from a recent job listing that suggests the game’s developers are preparing to release the nearly 20-year-old series on the platform.

Sony San Diego Studio is hiring a Senior Graphics Programmer to work on a high-profile PC game. The job focuses on improving the game’s visual performance and optimizing the PC engine it runs on, with no specific details yet revealed about the game itself.

Although the job posting seems to be for a different project, people are wondering what Sony San Diego’s next game will be, as they haven’t released anything outside of the MLB series since 2017. Their last non-baseball games, StarBlood Arena and Drawn to Death, both came out that year.

I’ve been following the MLB The Show series for a while now, and it’s amazing to see how far it’s come! They’ve really become a dedicated studio focused on making these baseball games. What’s really cool is that they started releasing the games on Xbox in 2021, which opened it up to so many more players. And then, in 2022, they even brought it to the Nintendo Switch! Just recently, MLB The Show 25 came out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, *and* Switch – it’s awesome that it’s available on so many platforms now.

The most recent high-quality MLB game released for PC was MLB 2K12, which came out in 2012.
