Until Dawn For PC & PlayStation 5 Gets ESRB Rating

As a long-time fan of survival horror games, this news about Until Dawn’s PC and PlayStation 5 release has sent chills down my spine! Having played the original back in 2015, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with excitement. The M rating is as expected, considering the intense violence and gore that was a staple of the game.

The upcoming version of Until Dawn, which will be available on both PC and PlayStation 5, now has an official ESRB rating along with its description.

Undoubtedly, the timeless survival horror masterpiece Until Dawn was awarded an M rating due to its consistent portrayal of graphic violence or gory scenes.

The ESRB rating indicates that the upcoming release of Until Dawn remains on schedule and could potentially come out ahead of schedule; however, this is purely conjecture at this point.

During its May 2024 State of Play broadcast, Sony subtly hinted at the revamped edition from Ballistic Moon. As of now, we’re looking forward to playing this game in Fall 2024; however, a specific launch date has yet to be set.

In the year 2015, the creative minds at Supermassive Games introduced Until Dawn, a chilling horror game that puts a heavy emphasis on choices made by the players. The star-studded cast includes talents like Hayden Panettiere and Rami Malek from Hollywood.

As per the Steam listing, the revamped edition of Until Dawn for PC will offer enhanced graphics using Unreal Engine and additional content.

The new features encompass “collectible items, unexplored settings for exploration, and revamped storyline segments.” Additionally, expect a third-person perspective camera and various enhancements to the overall user experience.

By January 2024, it was confirmed that PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems were working on a movie adaptation of Until Dawn as well. David F. Sandberg, who has directed Annabelle: Creation and the DCEU’s Shazam films, is set to direct this project.
