As a long-time survivor in the world of Dead by Daylight, I’ve seen my fair share of Killers and their various tricks. But none have quite caught my attention like The Nemesis, with its unique zombie companions and intriguing add-ons.
Since its debut in 2016, “Dead by Daylight” has consistently stood out in the horror video game genre, largely thanks to the consistent updates provided by developer Behaviour Interactive. These updates have not only kept the game fresh but also introduced new Killers and Survivors over time. In this guide, we’ll explore strategies for building the latest addition to “Dead by Daylight,” Nemesis from the Resident Evil series, to ensure players can excel with him in the game.
Like any dangerous adversary, Nemesis can pose a risk to Survivors, regardless of their build variety. However, it’s important to note that while Nemesis may not match up against the top-ranking Killers in the current “Dead by Daylight” meta such as Nurse and Spirit, he is far from being weak. In fact, Nemesis is relatively easy to master and doesn’t demand exceptional skill to utilize effectively.
The Nemesis: Best Beginner Build (2024)
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, the Nemesis is a beast in his Bloodweb! His abilities are nothing short of spectacular. With Eruption and Lethal Pursuer, I can cause generator regression all over the map and spot Survivors at the start of each trial. This build leverages these perks, pairs them with Bitter Murmur for tracking Survivors throughout the game, and throws in Hex: No One Escapes Death to ramp up the pressure during the Endgame Collapse.
- Eruption (The Nemesis) – After kicking a generator its aura will be highlighted in yellow. Upon downing a survivor, all highlighted generators will lose 10% progress and any Survivors working on them will have their aura revealed for 12 seconds.
- Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis) – At the start of the trial, all Survivor’s auras are revealed for 9 seconds. This perk also increases the duration of other aura–reading abilities by an extra 2 seconds.
- Bitter Murmur (General Perk) – Each time a generator is completed, the auras of Survivors within 16 meters of that generator are revealed for 5 seconds. Once the last generator is complete, all Survivors’ auras are revealed for 10 seconds.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) – After the final generator is completed, all Survivors suffer from the Exposed status ailment and you gain a 4% Haste effect until the Hex Totem is cleansed.
The Nemesis: Best Build (2024)
As a devoted fan of The Nemesis in Dead by Daylight, I’ve found a highly effective build that really maximizes his potential. To offset his initial weakness, I employ Deadlock’s passive generator slowdown, which gives me an edge during the early stages of the game. This strategy allows me to accumulate Mutation Rate at a faster pace and make the most out of the Zombies that hound Survivors off generators.
- Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the 3 generators furthest from the Killer’s starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first Survivor is downed.
- Deadlock (The Cenobite) – After a generator is repaired, the generator with the most progress is blocked for 25 seconds.
- Grim Embrace (The Artist) – Each time The Killer hooks a new Survivor, all generators are blocked for 12 seconds after moving 16 meters away from the hook. Upon hooking each Survivor once, all generators are blocked for 40 seconds and the Obsession’s aura is revealed for six seconds.
- No Way Out (The Trickster) – When a Survivor interacts with an exit gate at the end of the trial, the Killer will receive a noise notification and the exit gates will be blocked for 12 seconds, plus another 12 seconds for each new Survivor hooked.
The Nemesis: Best Add-Ons
As a seasoned player of the popular horror game, I can attest to the challenge that comes with mastering The Nemesis, a character known for his zombie-focused power and early-game survivor mistakes. Over time, I’ve found that it takes a keen eye and a lot of trial and error to determine which add-ons truly shine in The Nemesis’ arsenal. This guide is my attempt to share the strongest add-ons I’ve discovered for this fearsome Killer, organized according to their rarity on the Bloodweb. Whether you’re a new player looking to get the most out of your time with The Nemesis or an experienced player seeking to elevate your game even further, I hope this guide proves useful in your quest for victory.
Damaged Syringe
As a gamer, I’ve found that while The Nemesis’ standard add-ons aren’t exactly game-changing, the Damaged Syringe is quite useful. It slows down the enemy and makes Contaminated Survivors more susceptible, leaving them defenseless during pursuits as they can no longer vaccinate themselves.
Brian’s Intestines
Since the zombies from The Nemesis don’t always behave as expected, it’s still beneficial to make them move faster, thus amplifying their impact on the entire map.
Mikhail’s Eye
A more advanced model of Brian’s Intestines, Mikhail’s Eye has the ability to surprise Survivors during a chase with zombies, possibly causing their defeat or infection.
Marvin’s Blood
Without a doubt, Marvin’s Blood is The Nemesis’ most potent enhancement. It raises the Mutation Rate of Tentacle Strikes by 25% for clean survivors and a staggering 75% for those who are already infected. In simpler terms, this means that The Nemesis doesn’t need to exert early game pressure on multiple Survivors to reach Mutation Rate 2, as striking the same Survivor just three times with this add-on will significantly speed up the process of nullifying escape routes.
Admin Wristband
To get greater benefits from your zombies, combining the Admin Wristband with the zombie speed boosts will cause them to shove Survivors away from the generators and disrupt selfless actions by the players.
Serotonin Injector
Although The Nemesis’ steps are louder than most killers, going undetected can still unnerve some survivors enough to make errors. Using the Serotonin Injector, you’ll gain a period of invisibility (Undetectable) for approximately 15 seconds each time you eliminate a zombie.
Plant 43 Vines
Similar to a faulty syringe disrupting vaccination efforts, the entangled vines in Plant 43 hinder survivors’ ability to inoculate themselves against Tentacle attacks. By delaying the opening of supply crates, the Nemesis can more efficiently exert pressure on already infected survivors, aiming to eliminate them from the experiment.
Depleted Ink Ribbon
Just as other enhancements make zombies more troublesome for Survivors, they excel at their tasks. When combined with late-game abilities such as The Nightmare’s “Remember Me”, moving zombies towards exit gates can be remarkably advantageous.
Broken Recovery Coin
A simple yet impactful add-on, the Broken Recovery Coin removes one Supply Case from the trial, effectively reducing the amount of body blocks and free hits that Survivors can take. This is another invaluable add-on for The Nemesis.
Iridescent Umbrella Badge
For players of Nemesis who value targeting specific Survivors, the Iridescent Umbrella Badge is a crucial bonus item. By Revealing the whereabouts of recently Vaccinated Survivors, you can focus on and eliminate those in the most precarious situations by detecting their Killer Instinct and relentlessly pursuing them.
