2XKO is a tag-team fighting game created by Riot Games. In each match, you and a teammate choose two champions each and battle opponents in quick, exciting fights, switching between characters to perform combos and defend. To win, you need to defeat both opponents in two out of three rounds, so choosing a good team is key.
There are already plenty of awesome champions to pick from in *League of Legends*. This guide explains how to unlock every character currently available in 2XKO, whether you’re playing by yourself or with a partner.
How to Unlock Characters in 2XKO
Currently, the early access version of 2XKO features around 11 playable champions, with more planned for release in the future. Each champion has a diverse range of attacks and abilities, including special moves, powerful ultimate attacks, unique maneuvers, and assist calls. You can find a complete list of each champion’s moves in their profile. To add to the excitement, they also feature cool skins, taunts, and finishing moves.
To unlock a character in 2XKO, you’ll need one of the following:
- 1 Champion Token
- 10,000 Green Credits
- 10,000 KO Points
KO Points are the main premium currency and are purchased through the in-game store. Champion Tokens are also typically bought, but you can earn a small amount for free by finishing the Play First Fight and 12 First Steps tutorials.

If you’re playing for free, the best way to unlock new champions is by collecting Green Credits. You earn these by completing daily and weekly missions, or simply by playing matches. Each casual match win gives you 20 Green Credits, so consistent play can unlock champions without needing to spend any money. Be aware, though, that this will require a good amount of time and effort.
A good tip here is to choose carefully which characters you’ll use your free Champion Tokens on.

Ahri – The Nine-Tailed Fox

Ahri is a playable character you get for free after completing the tutorial in 2XKO. She’s designed as a fox with a human appearance, and her special moves—like Foxfire Blast, Wild Flares, and Spirit Rush—reflect that theme.
She’s a quick and cunning fighter who relies on the Orb of Deception as her most powerful move. She also has Hyper Spirit Rush and Charm as special attacks. Her attacks pack a serious punch, and her Hyper Spirit Rush can deal massive damage. She’s designed for a fast-paced, aggressive playstyle – a true ‘Rushdown’ character.

With abilities like Rocket Grab, Rocket Punch, and Spinning Turbine, he excels in close-quarters fighting and is a dependable choice for players.
He also has incredibly powerful special moves. Static Field allows him to jump into the air and fire off a massive electric attack, and Trash Compactor crushes opponents from above. He generally plays defensively, using abilities like Winter’s Bite, Battering Ram, and Stand Behind Me. However, he’s also capable of powerful attacks with moves like Iceborn Smash, Shattering Spires, and The Great Swing. Ekko – The Boy Who Shattered Time

Ekko is a champion you can play for free, and he’s incredibly intelligent. In fights, he relies on his cleverness and self-made gadgets, using abilities like Timewinder, Phase Dive, and Chronostrike.
Okay, so this character is seriously cool! His special moves are insane – he can literally bend time with ‘Attempt’ to avoid attacks and counter, and ‘Tangled Timeline’ creates these fake copies of him to confuse opponents so he can really hit hard. He’s pretty good as a support fighter, able to dash in and shoot things, but honestly, he’s a total beast when you build your team around him. He’s what they call a ‘Mix-Up’ type character, meaning he keeps you guessing and messes with your timing!

Her ultimate abilities are incredibly powerful, especially Test of Spirit, which does a lot of damage. She’s also a strong choice for a support fighter, as her Wrath of Nagakabouros Assist provides significant control. Similar to Braum, she’s best categorized as a Bruiser.
