As a die-hard Call of Duty fan who’s been through the zombie apocalypse more times than I can count, the latest teaser for Black Ops 6 has me positively giddy! The suspense is killing me, but I’ve learned to be patient over the years.
As the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 inches ever closer, Activision has begun to drip-feed tantalizing glimpses into the game’s Zombies mode that I, and countless other gamers, have been eagerly waiting for. Much like previous years, these intriguing snippets are being shared by Activision in a mysterious, unconventional manner.
Following Activision’s debut of Black Ops 6‘s trailer at the extensive Xbox Game Showcase in June, fans couldn’t wait to learn about Treyarch Studios’ plans for the legendary Zombies mode within the series. A thorough exploration of the upcoming Call of Duty title unveiled numerous novel gameplay elements, including an omnidirectional movement system that enables players to run, dive, and slide in any direction. However, apart from a brief teaser for Black Ops 6, specifics regarding the game’s Zombies mode have been relatively scarce.
Activision has begun hinting at the upcoming Zombies mode for the next Call of Duty game by launching a secretive website, which isn’t unexpected since the new CoD title is set to release in just three months and the Black Ops 6 beta weekend is fast approaching. The official Call of Duty Twitter account has shared a brief video that guides fans to visit TheTruthDies.com, where they can explore different sections to discover clues about the Zombies mode.
Activision Ramps Up Black Ops 6 Zombies Teasers
If users navigate to this unique site, they’ll soon notice that most channels display an “off-air” notification. Yet, some special channels offer a sneak peek into the Zombies mode of Black Ops 6. At the moment, just two teasers are available on the site, but it seems there might be additional previews in the pipeline and potentially leading up to the unveiling of a full trailer.
Though more details about the Zombies mode in Black Ops 6 are yet to surface, it was affirmed during its unveiling that the classic round-based Zombies will make a comeback. This feature was conspicuously missing from Modern Warfare 3 last year and is frequently demanded by fans when a new Call of Duty game features a Zombies mode. The initial sneak peek for the mode also disclosed that Black Ops 6 would incorporate two Zombie maps: Terminus and Liberty Falls, with the former hinted at again in one of the latest teaser clips.
The teasers aren’t showing anything revolutionary, but keen-eyed fans suspect that Black Ops 6 might reintroduce a contentious Zombies mechanic from Black Ops Cold War (2020).
