A recent update to Ghost of Yotei could fix a bug that was preventing players from finishing a specific mission. If you were stuck due to this bug, the patch might allow you to progress now.
Sucker Punch has released the patch notes for the 1.010 update of Ghost of Tsushima. This update isn’t as large as the initial day one patch, but it includes important bug fixes and more improvements than the previous update.
This update mainly addresses issues where players were getting stuck and unable to continue in various missions, including one bug that prevented any further progress in the game.
There are also a couple of rare crashes that have been addressed in the new patch.
Fixing “Permanent Mission Blocking Bugs”
Update 1.010 resolves issues that were preventing players from completing seven different quests. These problems occurred when certain actions, like dying at a specific moment after completing a task, stopped the quest from finishing properly – for example, in the “Broken Horn Garrison” quest, players could get stuck after rescuing the prisoner but before the quest officially ended.
A bug in the “Fighting Fire with Fire” mission has been fixed. Previously, players couldn’t complete the flash bomb training if they didn’t have any flash bombs, which would halt their progress.
Players were encountering bugs that could prevent them from completing certain missions. For example, starting the “Way of the Kusarigama” mission at a specific moment could make it unplayable, and saving and quitting during “Higashi Lumberyard” at the wrong time could lock players out of completing it.
Okay, so I found out there was this weird bug where if you climbed one of the towers in the Frontier, talked to that NPC up there, and *then* reloaded from your last save, it could completely break your game. Like, you wouldn’t be able to play anymore. It was a pretty serious issue!
We’re also fixing a few rare crashes, including one that occurred with ray tracing and another specifically during the “Poison and Lies” mission if you got close to Oyuki while Nine Tails was with you.
A temporary asset mistakenly appeared in the final part of the Kitsune of the Yotei Six questline and has now been corrected.
Given how well-received Ghost of Yotei has been, it’s not surprising there aren’t major issues needing immediate fixes. However, Sucker Punch is quickly addressing the bugs that did make it into the game, which is impressive considering it’s only been out for two weeks and has already received four updates, including the initial launch patch.
