Hollow Knight boasts a vast and detailed world full of secrets. As you explore the depths of Hallownest and collect Geo, it’s smart to know where to spend it. You’ll want to invest in important items like Charms, maps, and nail upgrades. Don’t forget to find opportunities to trade valuable Relics for even more Geo!
This guide provides a complete list of every merchant in *Hollow Knight*, including where to find them and what they sell. It’s designed to help players spend their Geo wisely as they explore the game’s fascinating world.
Heads up: This guide contains spoilers! It reveals details about locations and events in the game, which you might prefer to discover on your own while playing. Read at your own risk.
This guide, originally written by Daniel Dilena and updated by Jeff Brooks on October 18, 2025, has been completely revised. It now includes information on Cornifer, Divine, and the Steel Soul Jinn – merchants that were previously missing. We’ve also removed The Last Stag, as they aren’t a merchant. Beyond a new introduction and more detailed merchant descriptions, this version breaks down each merchant’s inventory with items, prices, locations, and full descriptions.
Charm Lover Salubra (Forgotten Crossroads)

In *Hollow Knight*, Charms are essential for improving your abilities in battle. You’ll need to collect a total of 11 Charm Notches throughout the game – either by finding them or purchasing them – to be able to equip these helpful power-ups.
Charm Lover Salubra is an important merchant for buying Charms and Charm Notches. You can find her at the bottom of Forgotten Crossroad, close to Blue Lake. She sells five different Charms and four Charm Notches. Once you’ve collected all 40 Charms, she also offers a unique, special item for purchase.

Confessor Jiji (Dirtmouth)

You can find Confessor Jiji outside of Dirtmouth, on the right side at the bottom of the cliffs. He’s behind a locked door, so you’ll need a Simple Key to reach him. While there are a few places to find a Simple Key, the easiest way is to buy one from Sly in Dirtmouth for 950 Geo, but only after he’s opened his shop.
Confessor Jiji has a special ability: for the price of a Rancid Egg, he can summon a ghostly version of you from the place you last died. This is really helpful if you fall in a hard-to-reach spot! But even after summoning your Shade, you’ll still need to defeat it to get back your lost Geo and refill your Soul Meter.
Confessor Jiji is replaced by Steel Soul Jinn in Steel Soul Mode.
Cornifer (Dynamic Location)

Cornifer is a traveling merchant who explores and creates maps of all of Hallownest. He sells these maps, showing you the layout of different areas in the game. You can usually find him humming to himself in hidden spots, and a scattering of papers will often mark the way to his location.
Once you’ve thoroughly explored a region (or beaten its boss), Cornifer will move on. To buy the map for that area then, players need to go back to his wife, Iselda, in Dirtmouth. She sells maps for any areas the Knight has already visited.
Iselda charges a little extra for area maps, so it’s cheaper to buy them from Cornifer before he moves on to a new region. This will save you some Geo.
Item | Price |

Map for City of Tears | 90 Geo |

You can’t buy a map to the Resting Grounds directly from Cornifer, but Iselda still offers it for sale.
- After acquiring all the game’s maps, Cornifer will permanently relocate to Iselda’s shop in Dirtmouth.
Divine (Dirtmouth with The Grimme Troupe DLC)

Divine joins the game with The Grimm Troupe DLC and sells the most costly items. Unlike other merchants, you don’t buy directly from her. Instead, you feed her Fragile Charms. After receiving enough, she’ll ask for a specific amount of Geo (see the details below). If you give her the requested Geo, she’ll create an Unbreakable version of the Fragile Charm you fed her. You can get Fragile Charms from the merchant Leg Eater.
If the Grimm Troupe is banished, Divine will vanish along with them, dropping any Fragile Charms she’s collected where she last stood. However, if you defeat Nightmare King Grimm, Divine will stay until you’ve fully upgraded all three Fragile Charms.
Unbreakable Charms | Description | Price |
---|---|---|
Upgrade Fragile Greed to Unbreakable Greed | Causes the bearer to find more Geo when defeating enemies. | 9,000 Geo |
Upgrade Fragile Heart to Unbreakable Heart | Increases the health of the bearer, allowing them to take more damage. | 12,000 Geo |
Upgrade Fragile Strength to Unbreakable Strength | Strengthens the bearer, increasing the damage they deal to enemies with their nail. | 15,000 Geo |
After fully upgrading all Fragile Charms, players can visit Leg Eater to showcase the Unbreakable versions and unlock a new scene.
Iselda (Dirtmouth)

In Dirtmouth, you’ll find Iselda, Cornifer’s wife, running a shop right next to the Stag Station. She sells maps and tools to help you navigate Hallownest. She offers 13 different maps, two mapping tools, and 13 map pins, all purchased using Geo.
Players can find maps at Iselda’s shop by first exploring an area and choosing *not* to buy the map from Cornifer when he’s there. Once Cornifer moves on, the map will become available at Iselda’s shop, though it will cost a little more.

Maps | ||
Ancient Basin | A map of the Ancient Basin, a land buried deep down at the bottom of the world. | 150 Geo |
City of Tears | A map of the City of Tears, capital of Hallownest. Does water really fall from above the city? It sounds beautiful… | 120 Geo |
Crystal Peak | A map of Crystal Peak, the huge shining mountain that looms behind Dirtmouth. My husband brought back some crystals from the mines along with the map of this area. What makes them shine so brightly? | 150 Geo |
Deepnest | A map of Deepnest, a dark and dangerous area at the bottom of the world. When my husband came back with a map he’d barely filled out I was annoyed, but then I saw how frightened he was! Poor thing. | 50 Geo |
Fog Canyon | A map of Fog Canyon, which connects Greenpath to the Fungal Wastes. The air is thick there, so Cornifer found it difficult to find his way. Well, more difficult than he usually does. | 200 Geo |
Forgotten Crossroads | A map of the Forgotten Crossroads, the area just below Dirtmouth. Cornifer dragged me down there once. It was an empty, lonely place but still quite impressive. | 40 Geo |
Fungal Wastes | A map of Fungal Wastes, an area choked with fungus beneath the Forgotten Crossroads. My husband brought some mushrooms back from there and tried to cook them. The stench was hideous! | 100 Geo |
Greenpath | A map of Greenpath, a verdant area of Hallownest close to the surface. Apparently the water there is deadly to the touch! | 80 Geo |
Howling Cliffs | A map of the Howling Cliffs, which look over Dirtmouth. Cornifer told me that the winds got so loud there he couldn’t hear himself speak. Which begs the question…Why was he speaking to himself? | 100 Geo |
Kingdom’s Edge | A map of Kingdom’s Edge, all the way out at the end of the world. My husband…He travels to such distant places, while I stay here in town. | 150 Geo |
Resting Grounds | A map of the Resting Grounds, a sacred place not far from the Crossroads. Cornifer told me he found the area serene and calming, but it sounds a bit spooky to me. No thanks. | 75 Geo |
Royal Waterways | A map of the Royal Waterways, the pipes and chambers below the City of Tears. It sounds like Cornifer really enjoyed exploring the area, though he was damp and shivering when he returned. | 100 Geo |
Queen’s Gardens | A map of the Queen’s Gardens, a royal sanctuary close to Greenpath. Cornifer sometimes calls me his Queen…Usually only when I’m angry though. | 200 Geo |
Mapping Tools | ||
Wayward Compass (Charm) | Whispers its location to the bearer whenever a map is open, allowing wanderers to pinpoint their current location. | 220 Geo |
Quill | When resting at a Bench or elsewhere, the quill can be used to update the map with newly discovered areas. | 120 Geo |
Map Pins | ||
Vendor Pins | Use these pins to mark shopkeepers or any other interesting bugs you find on your travels. Every so often, you should pass by and see how they’re doing. I’m sure they’d like that. | 100 Geo |
Stag Station Pins | These pins will mark any Stagway Stations you’ve visited. They must have been very lively places when the stags still travelled through them. | 100 Geo |
Bench Pins | These pins will mark benches and other rest spots on your map. Useful if you’re exhausted and just need to find somewhere to sit! | 100 Geo |
Cocoon Pins | Have you seen those beautiful blue cocoons? I made these pins so you can keep track of them. The cocoons are pretty, but very delicate. Please be careful around them. | 100 Geo |
Hot Spring Pin | I designed these pins to keep track of the kingdom’s hot springs. I haven’t visited any myself… I wonder if Cornifer might take me sometime? I’m sure you’d make better use of these pins ’til then. | 100 Geo |
Whispering Root Pin | Cornifer has been telling me about these strange whispering roots he’s been seeing. I made some pins so you can record their locations yourself. | 150 Geo |
Warrior’s Grave Pin | Cornifer told me he’s found some interesting looking graves and shrines in the depths. You can use these pins to mark down any interesting graves on your map. Go and pay your respects. | 180 Geo |
Tram Pin | Those trams sound like awfully advanced machines. Those ancient bugs must’ve been a clever lot. These pins should be perfect for recording a tram stop’s location. | 100 Geo |
Scarab Marker | These markers are new additions to the shop. You can use them to mark interesting spots on your map! The colour is quite soothing, don’t you think? | 100 Geo |
Shell Marker | These markers are new additions to the shop. You can use them to record interesting spots on your map! This colour could be useful to remind yourself of hard-won battles. | 100 Geo |
Gleaming Marker (Req: Mothwing Cloak) | These markers are new additions to the shop. You can use them to mark interesting spots on your map! The material I used for this colour is quite rare, so it costs a little more. | 210 Geo |
Token Marker (Req: Mothwing Cloak) | These markers are new additions to the shop. You can use them to mark interesting spots on your map! This understated colour makes me think of hunting underground for treasure… | 100 Geo |
Leg Eater (Fungal Wastes)

If you’re looking for powerful Charms in *Hollow Knight*, head to Leg Eater. He sells three useful options: Fragile Heart, Fragile Greed, and Fragile Strength. You can find Leg Eater in the Fungal Waste, which is close to the entrance to the Forgotten Crossroads.
Unlike regular Charms, these Fragile Charms will shatter and become unusable when the Knight is defeated. Fortunately, Leg Eater has the ability to repair them—but he’ll charge a fee.
If you have the Defender’s Crest Charm equipped, Leg Eater will repair your items for 20% less.
Item | Description | Price |
---|---|---|
Fragile Heart (Charm) | This is a precious thing. A beautiful charm. I made it for you! If you hold it you’ll feel a lot healthier. If you’re afraid of dying, you need this charm! | 350 Geo (280 with Defender’s Crest) |
Fragile Greed (Charm) | Very, very, special and valuable charm! Do you want to find more Geo? Hold this charm and go hunting! Then bring any Geo you find back to me! | 250 Geo (200 with Defender’s Crest) |
Fragile Strength (Charm) | You’re weak, aren’t you? You should give me Geo. If you do, I’ll give you this charm I made. It will make you stronger. Your enemies, and everyone else, will fear you at last… | 600 Geo (480 with Defender’s Crest) |
Fragile Heart (Repair) | It’s broken now, and its power is sleeping. Very sad! Give me Geo, and I’ll fix it. | 200 Geo (160 with Defender’s Crest) |
Fragile Greed (Repair) | It’s broken now, and its power is sleeping. Very sad! Give me Geo, and I’ll fix it. | 150 Geo (120 with Defender’s Crest) |
Fragile Strength (Repair) | It’s broken now, and its power is sleeping. Very sad! Give me Geo, and I’ll fix it. | 350 Geo (280 with Defender’s Crest) |
If you’re looking for a powerful source of Geo in the late game, upgrading Fragile Charms to Unbreakable Charms using the Divine offering from The Grimm Troupe DLC is a great option.
Little Fool (Colosseum of Fools)

A common challenge for players is getting enough Geo to improve their Knight and gear, as there aren’t many good places to collect it. While the Colosseum of Fools is a great farming spot, players need to be ready for tough challenges there – the Trials are quite difficult.
If you’re ready to begin a Trial, you’ll need to find Little Fool. He’s located at the top of the western chasm in Kingdom’s Edge. Little Fool offers three different Trials, each with a varying level of difficulty, all for a fixed price in Geo. While he’s not a typical merchant, he’s definitely worth seeking out!
Trial | Price |
---|---|
Trial of the Warrior | 100 Geo |
Trial of the Conqueror | 450 Geo |
Trial of the Fool | 800 Geo |
Millibelle the Banker (Fog Canyon & City of Tears)

Millibelle, though technically a merchant, mainly helps the Knight safely save their Geo, the primary currency in *Hollow Knight*. Players use Geo to buy equipment and unlock new abilities. However, dying causes you to lose all your Geo, and you’ll need to return to where you fell to recover it – or pay Confessor Jiji a fee.
If you want to keep your Geo safe, visit Millibelle the Banker. She can store up to 4,500 Geo for you. You’ll first find her in Fog Canyon, but if you deposit more than 2,550 Geo, she’ll move to the Pleasure House in the City of Tears.
Nailsmith (City of Tears)

The Knight’s main weapon is the Nail, used for fighting enemies. Players begin with the Old Nail, which isn’t very strong, dealing only 5 damage. However, the Nailsmith can improve it to the Pure Nail, significantly increasing its damage to 21 per hit. Upgrading the Nail to its full potential is essential for overcoming the toughest bosses in *Hollow Knight*.
To fully upgrade the Knight’s nail, players need to find Pale Ore hidden all over Hallownest.
Players can find the Nailsmith in the far southwest corner of City of Tears in a tiny hut.
Upgrade | Damage | Price |
---|---|---|
Sharpened Nail | 9 | 250 Geo |
Channelled Nail | 13 | 800 Geo and one Pale Ore |
Coiled Nail | 17 | 2,000 Geo and two Pale Ore |
Pure Nail | 21 | 4,000 Geo and three Pale Ore |
Relic Seeker Lemm (City of Tears)

As you explore Hallownest, you’ll find special items called Relics – like the Wanderer’s Journal, Hallownest Seal, King’s Idol, and Arcane Egg. You can sell these to a character named Lemm, the Relic Seeker, for a good amount of in-game currency called Geo.
You can find Lemm’s shop close to the large fountain in City of Tears. When you sell Relics to him, he’ll tell you a little bit about the history of Hallownest.
If you beat one of the three Dreamers, the shopkeeper Lemm will briefly close up shop. However, he’ll reopen it when you find him near the large fountain in the City of Tears and talk to him.
Item | Description | Reward |
---|---|---|
Wanderer’s Journal | These journals give us an interesting glimpse into the minds and hearts of those who lived before us. They’re a common find, so I can’t offer you too much for them. | 200 Geo |
Hallownest Seal | These ornate seals were the official symbols of the King and his Knights, and were treasured by those who carried them. The King and his Knights are long gone, but the seals still hold value as curiosities. I’ll pay a modest price for them. | 450 Geo |
King’s Idol | An icon of Hallownest’s King, who was revered as both a god and a ruler. Made out of a mysterious white material, these are rare and very valuable. If you’ll sell it to me, I’ll pay a good price. | 800 Geo |
Arcane Egg | Ah! This seems like a simple egg, but it’s actually a precious relic from before the birth of Hallownest! I’ll pay you a small fortune for it. Please sell it to me! | 1,200 Geo |
If you’re saving up for something expensive in the game, like an Unbreakable Charm, a good strategy is to collect Relics and then sell them all at once when you have enough for your purchase.
Sly (Forgotten Crossroads & Dirtmouth)

Sly runs a shop similar to an old-fashioned general store, offering essential items for adventurers exploring Hallownest. You’ll first find him at the base of the Forgotten Crossroads, but he eventually sets up a permanent shop in the town of Dirtmouth.
In addition to Simple Keys and Lumafly Lanterns, Sly also offers Charms and Vessels for purchase. You can expand his inventory by finding a Shopkeeper’s Key at Crystal Peak and giving it to him. After mastering all three Nail Arts from the Nailmasters, be sure to visit Sly again – he has a special gift for you!
Item | Description | Price |
---|---|---|
Simple Key | Simply, a simple key. It will fit a variety of locks, which is useful if you like to poke around in places you don’t belong. | 950 Geo |
Rancid Egg | I found this under the counter. Some creature must have laid it here while I was stuck down in the ruins. I suppose you could buy it? I won’t miss its sour odour. | 60 Geo |
Lumafly Lantern | What’s more important? A light to guide your way, or a friend who’ll stay by your side? Why not both? Take this bright little fellow as your companion, and he’ll light your way through the thickest darkness. | 1,800 Geo |
Gathering Swarm (Charm) | Do you find yourself leaving a lot of Geo behind as you hurry through the caverns? This charm will make sure that any loose change finds its way back to you. | 300 Geo |
Stalwart Shell (Charm) | Life in Hallownest can be tough, always taking hits and getting knocked around. This charm grants you more time to recover after taking damage. Useful if you need to escape from a tight spot. | 200 Geo |
Heavy Blow (Charm) (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key) | You enjoy smacking about foes with that nail of yours, right? With this charm equipped, you’ll be able to send them flying further with every hit! | 350 Geo |
Sprintmaster (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key, The Grimm Troupe DLC) | You like it? It’s a recent addition to my collection. Handsome thing, isn’t it? Holding it lets you run around quickly and tirelessly, as though you were young again! Or, erm, so I’m told. | 400 Geo |
Elegant Key (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key) | An explorer found this fancy key floating in the waterways of the city far below us. I’ve not cleaned it. | 800 Geo |
Mask Shard | This old thing? Merely a fragment of something larger. Still, maybe you can make some use of it. | 150 Geo |
Mask Shard | I found another of these. If you look closely, there’s some nice engraving work on them. I suspect I undercharged last time, and this is the only one left. It’s gonna cost you! | 500 Geo |
Mask Shard (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key) | You’re collecting these, aren’t you? Well you’re in luck, I found another in my storeroom. This is the last one though, so it’s priced accordingly. | 800 Geo |
Mask Shard (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key) | As it turns out, I do actually have one more of these shards left. Very last one! I feel bad charging you so much for the previous shards, especially because it means I have to charge even more for this one. | 1,500 Geo |
Vessel Fragment | A piece of a Soul Vessel. You know, those ghastly looking orb things? I don’t really like the aura about it, but it’s quite rare so I’ll have to charge you a high price. | 550 Geo |
Vessel Fragment (Req: Shopkeeper’s Key) | I dug out another of these. Turns out I had a complete set. If they didn’t give me the creeps, I’d put the pieces together myself. | 900 Geo |
Steel Soul Jinn (Dirtmouth)

Steel Soul Jinn is a special character you can only find when playing Steel Soul Mode, a very challenging difficulty setting unlocked after completing the game. This mode features permanent death, meaning if you die, your progress is lost. In Steel Soul Mode, Jinn replaces Confessor Jiji near Dirtmouth. Since the ability to retrieve your shade after death isn’t useful in a permadeath mode, Jinn instead buys Rancid Eggs for between 290 and 449 Geo.
Tuk (Royal Waterways)

You can find Tuk, a unique vendor, in a secret room in the northeast corner of Royal Waterways. She only sells one item: Rancid Eggs, which cost between 80 and 100 Geo each. These eggs are crucial because Confessor Jiji requires them to restore a player’s lost Shade. While there are ways to find Rancid Eggs elsewhere, buying them from Tuk is the fastest option. She’ll keep selling them as long as you have enough Geo, but she won’t sell any if you already have 80 or more.
I was really bummed to find out Tuk isn’t selling anything in Steel Soul Mode. But honestly, it’s worth checking out his usual spot anyway – you’ll find something *totally* unexpected there. It’s a pretty big surprise!
