In Battlefield 6, assault rifles are powerful and versatile weapons. They perform well at almost any distance and inflict good damage. Although they have more kickback than carbines or SMGs, skilled players will find that assault rifles are more effective overall.
This guide breaks down every assault rifle in *BF6*, helping you compare them and find the best one for your playstyle. We’ve ranked them based on how well they perform at different distances, but we’ll also dive into the specifics of each gun to help you make the right choice.
Best ARs in Battlefield 6
- Kord 6P67
- M433
- NVO-228E
- B36A4
- TR-7
- L85A3
- SOR-556
- AK4D
In *Battlefield 6*, most maps feature combat at distances between 10 and 80 meters, so an effective assault rifle needs to perform well in that range. We recommend the Kord as the best choice because it’s accurate, has minimal recoil, and fires very quickly, making it great for any fight. On the other hand, the AK4D isn’t as versatile. It’s designed for longer-range battles and can be less effective up close.
Kord 6P67

This assault rifle performs and feels very similar to the M4A1 from *Battlefield 6*, but with some key differences. While it does slightly less damage up close, it’s much easier to control thanks to reduced recoil and improved accuracy. Plus, its 2-round burst mode makes it exceptionally effective against enemies at distances of 80 meters or more. It might not be the quickest way to eliminate opponents, but its reliable performance at typical combat ranges is truly outstanding.
The Kord’s rapid fire rate can actually be a disadvantage for some players. Because it shoots so fast, it’s easy to waste ammo by missing shots, and you might overshoot your targets, making it harder to handle multiple enemies. However, these are small issues – ultimately, winning a gunfight with the Kord depends on the player’s skill.
M433

The M433 rifle excels in close-range combat, and with the right attachments, it performs well at longer distances too. It can eliminate an enemy with just four body shots from up to 10 meters away, and its rapid fire rate of 830 rounds per minute gives you a significant advantage over most other assault rifles, even the Kord 6P67.
The M433 can be a bit tricky to control because of its recoil. It often pulls to the right when you fire, and even with attachments, you might still feel a noticeable kick to the right. While it’s manageable, this jerky recoil could affect your accuracy.
NVO-228E

The NVO-228E doesn’t fire as quickly as some other assault rifles, but it does more damage at longer distances, making it a reliable choice in fights beyond 40 meters. It also has much better recoil control than the M433, and remains fairly accurate even when accounting for the game’s random bullet spread.
The NVO-228E is a great weapon for players who prioritize simplicity over quickly eliminating opponents. It works really well right out of the box, and with a good setup, it’s incredibly dependable. While it might lose a direct, close-quarters fight against the top two assault rifles, it can actually kill an enemy with just three body shots from up to 5 meters away – a useful tactic to remember.
B36A4

This weapon performs almost identically to the NVO-228E overall. While best suited for medium-range combat, its fast fire rate of 720 rounds per minute makes it a strong contender in close-quarters battles, even compared to the NVO-228E. The B36A4 has significantly less recoil – both visually and when firing – than the M433 and NVO, resulting in a very smooth shooting experience with attachments.
The B36A4 assault rifle is well-balanced in *Battlefield 6*. It doesn’t excel in any one area, but it’s solid overall, making it a good standard for comparing other rifles in the game.
TR-7

We didn’t like the TR-7 at first. It had a strong kick to the left and quickly became inaccurate after just a few shots. But after testing it thoroughly, we realized the TR-7 is easily the best assault rifle for fighting in close quarters. Within 20 meters, it outperforms all other ARs, and its damage is comparable to the M277 carbine at distances of 75 to 80 meters.
The TR-7’s biggest weakness remains its strong recoil. While good attachments can help control it, it’s still not a great choice for fighting at medium distances.
L85A3

When it comes to mid-range combat – around 40 to 80 meters – the L85A3 stands out as the most dependable weapon. It’s perfectly balanced for this range, with great accuracy, manageable recoil, and a fast fire rate. Plus, it performs surprisingly well in close-up fights.
The L85A3 is only slightly more difficult to handle than the SOR-556. It falls somewhere between the SOR and the NVO in terms of control, so if you enjoy either of those rifles, you’ll likely enjoy the L85A3 too.
SOR-556

Okay, so the SOR-556 isn’t *bad*, but honestly, it feels a little slow in close-up fights compared to other assault rifles. Where it really shines, though, is at medium range – it can seriously put people down. The accuracy can be a bit jumpy sometimes, but it’s usually pretty reliable. But honestly, the best thing about this gun is how little recoil it has. It actually feels more like an SMG, like the UMG-40, than a traditional AR. I find myself comparing it to that more than anything else.
The SOR-556 rifle really shines on larger maps such as Operation Firestorm, Mirak Valley, and Liberation Peak, which offer long distances for shooting. Skilled players can maximize its damage by using Hollow Point or Synthetic Tip ammunition, especially when aiming for headshots.
AK4D

The AK4D is powerful at medium range – it can quickly defeat enemies between 40 and 80 meters. However, its relatively slow firing speed of 514 rounds per minute puts it at a disadvantage in close-quarters combat against other weapons within the first 10 to 25 meters. Like the M/60 machine gun in *BF6*, the AK4D can eliminate an enemy with just 3 bullets at 10 meters, and 4 bullets up to 75 meters away.
Despite being deadly up close, the AK4D can struggle in close-quarters combat because its slow firing rate means missed shots are costly. It’s not a bad gun overall, but it’s most effective at shorter to medium ranges compared to other options.
