Elden Ring Update Made a Huge Nerf Not Mentioned in the Patch Notes

As a seasoned Elden Ring gamer with countless hours spent in the Lands Between, I must say I’m left scratching my head over the latest update regarding the Circlet of Light. This exquisite piece of gear has been my go-to accessory for both its style and utility. The fact that it no longer boosts other Miquella incantations is a bit of a letdown, to say the least.

This article has SPOILERS for the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

It appears that an update for the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has allegedly reduced the power of the Circlet of Light helm, now only enhancing the Light of Miquella spell and not any other of his incantations as intended. The recent update aimed to rectify a problem with the item that wasn’t properly granting the buff on the Light of Miquella, but it seems the developers may have accidentally eliminated all other benefits provided by the Circlet of Light in the process.

The recent Elden Ring update made a plethora of balance changes to the game. Some bugs came along with it as well, as players ran into a strange issue where the final boss in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was dying automatically. Amid that, fans have discovered a huge change FromSoftware introduced recently which was nowhere mentioned in the patch notes.

In a recent post on the Elden Ring subreddit, user SpliTteR31 points out an essential adjustment made in the most recent update that significantly impacted a crucial item. The fix implemented as part of the 1.13 update for the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC addressed the Circlet of Light, which previously failed to enhance the damage dealt by the Light of Miquella. Following the update, this interaction functioned correctly, but it appears that the item no longer grants a 10% damage buff to the Radagon’s Sword of Light, Radagon’s Incantation Tool, and Radagon’s Sacred Seal.

How To Get Circlet Of Light In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

To acquire the highly sought-after Circlet of Light in the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expansion, players must first vanquish the final boss, Promised Consort Radahn. This accessory has gained considerable attention within the Elden Ring community, particularly among those who appreciate the genre’s fashionable side, affectionately known as “Fashion Souls.” The item’s aesthetic appeal is its primary allure, although the additional benefits it offers are also appreciated. One often overlooked feature of this item is that it grants 5 Poise while weighing a mere 1 pound, making it one of the best in terms of weight-to-poise ratio in Elden Ring.

Players find themselves let down by the recent update, as several point out that the Circlet of Light fails to amplify all of Miquella’s spells, despite being crafted by him. Some fans even argue that it should enhance all sorceries and incantations, given its role as a reward for defeating the game’s final boss. At present, players continue to favor the Dryleaf Seal in Elden Ring, which increases Miquella’s spell power by 15%.
