Paris Olympics Parkour Outfit Recreated in Assassin's Creed Unity

Highlights

  • The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics featured a hooded torchbearer that many believe was inspired by Assassin’s Creed.
  • One Assassin’s Creed Unity player has now attempted to recreate the mysterious figure’s attire in the game.

As a seasoned Assassin’s Creed Unity player with over 3000 hours clocked in, I must say that seeing a fellow gamer recreate the Olympics parkour outfit in the game is nothing short of inspiring. While I don’t have the skills to pull off such a feat myself, it’s always heartening to see the community come together and create something remarkable.

A gamer has put time and effort into designing an Olympic parkour outfit replica within the game ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’. Although the game lacks some of the specific accessories from the original Olympic outfit, the player managed to capture the essence of its design quite well.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris caught the attention of gamers, as its final torchbearer resembled a lead character from “Assassin’s Creed”. As a result, the number of players for “Assassin’s Creed Unity”, the game predominantly set in Paris from the series, has significantly increased following the event on July 26.

AC Unity Player Recreates Olympics Parkour Outfit With Sans-Culottes Hood

Among the mix of fresh and recurring players in the AC Unity community, there’s Reddit user Shashwats7777. This user has chosen to replicate the parkour costume from the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony within the game. The final product is quite similar to the original design, serving as a testament to why some spectators believe the last torchbearer at the July event was an ode to Ubisoft’s enduring series. Notably, the user’s outfit uses Arno’s standard top and trousers, although their colors don’t perfectly align with those of the Olympic parkour attire; however, they are quite similar in most other aspects.

Shashwats7777 chose to add the Sans-Culottes Hood to their design, explaining that this hat resembles the Phrygian caps which were symbolic of revolution and served as the model for the Phryges, the emblems of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Therefore, they felt it was fitting to include the Sans-Culottes Hood in their outfit inspired by the Olympics. To go along with this, a pair of matching Sans-Culottes Bracers is included in the recently shared Assassin’s Creed Unity costume.

What was conspicuously absent from the ensemble was a fencing mask, which the torchbearer for the final Olympics 2024 wore to conceal their identity during parkour stunts on rooftops and sprints through the Louvre. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t provide any masks like that for Shashwats7777’s character, Arno, to wear.

Despite Shashwats7777’s noble effort at representing the costume, it highlights the fans’ increasing yearning for Ubisoft to incorporate the Olympics outfit into ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’. However, it appears that this might not be feasible, given that adding new content to an 11-year-old game primarily designed as a single-player experience could be quite unusual for Ubisoft.
