New players are advised to refrain from attempting any other banners due to the Universal Pity system.
In Universal Pity system, every 100 attempts (or “pulls”), players are guaranteed a Legendary card, regardless of which banner they’re using. Once a Legendary is obtained, this guarantee resets. For instance, if a new player tries to pull a Debut character for the first 40 times, then moves to the Beginner banner for the next 30 pulls, they would get their Legendary on the 70th pull and the Universal Pity would reset. However, if a player starts with only the Beginner Banner, they’ll obtain a Legendary within the first 30 pulls, and the subsequent 40 summons will contribute towards the next pity guarantee.
The Beginner Banner expires roughly a month after an account is first created.
