As a seasoned Bloodborne veteran, I can confidently say that Vicar Amelia is one of the most intriguing bosses the game has to offer. The journey to her lair is as challenging as she is, with hidden shortcuts and treacherous paths that test your mettle at every turn.
In the game Bloodborne, Amelia the Vicar is the second compulsory boss that gamers encounter. To fight her, players must first navigate to the Cathedral Ward, a location they’ll find following the defeat of Father Gascoigne. However, it’s important to note that the path to the Cathedral Ward needs to be unlocked initially before you can reach the nearest lantern.
In Bloodborne, there can be extensive gaps between lantern checkpoints and bosses, but secret shortcuts are scattered across the game world to facilitate quicker returns for repeated battles against a boss. Here’s a guide to reaching Vicar Amelia, along with a time-saving shortcut for easier navigation on subsequent attempts.
Where To Find Vicar Amelia In Bloodborne
Beginning at the Cathedral Ward lantern, descend the stairs and pass through the door on your right. In the subsequent chamber, you’ll encounter an elevator inhabited by an adversary in a wheelchair, armed with a gatling gun. Defeat this enemy, then rotate to locate a bridge directing you towards the Healing Church Workshop. Keep moving along the path, veer to the right around the tower’s side, and lower yourself down to the tower’s ground level via a drop. This area will consist only of a wooden bridge; you’ll need to descend along the left edge of the room to reach the floor below.
After Healing Church Workshop
Fall damage is unavoidable, but should only be a little bit, so heal up after you take any fall damage to stay ready for the next drop. At the bottom of the tower will be a fairly strong beast that can use fire magic. Defeat the enemy and travel out the back door into the alleyway. There will be a tall bag-wielding enemy along the left side to watch out for, along with a pack of enemies coming from the alleyways ahead. At the cross-section, take the path to the left and up the elevator ahead.
As a fan, I find myself standing before an elevator, eagerly anticipating my journey ahead. Atop this elevator rests a modest ledge, hidden behind a substantial gate. To unlock this gate, simply pull the lever conveniently positioned to your right. Once opened, follow the path to your right, where you’ll encounter a grand staircase teeming with enemies patrolling the levels above. At the pinnacle of these staircases lies the majestic Cathedral, within which Vicar Amelia resides.

Shortcut To Vicar Amelia
By opening the gate earlier, the route from the Cathedral Ward lantern to Vicar Amelia becomes more manageable. To get there, simply exit the door at the base of the stairs and take the path to the right then ascend the stairs. At the top of these stairs is where you left open the gate, with just the larger staircases ahead before reaching the boss.
