In World of Warcraft, players completing the Pandaren Heritage questline in Patch 11.2.7 can earn the Festival Hot Air Balloon. This mount isn’t just a collectible; it’s a fun way to travel, carrying up to four players at a time. While officially considered a ‘toy,’ it offers a stylish new travel option for players.
On December 2nd, World of Warcraft will receive Patch 11.2.7, introducing early access to player housing and bringing back the Brawler’s Guild. The update also includes a new story chapter that connects the The War Within and Midnight expansions. Players will be able to begin a long-awaited Heritage Armor quest for the Pandaren, returning to the Wandering Isle to protect the Spirit Festival with familiar faces like Chen and Li Li Stormstout.
New Multi-Seat Hot Air Balloon Mount Toy from WoW Patch 11.2.7
This new questline offers more than just a fresh story and new armor. Completing the Pandaren Heritage story unlocks the Festival Hot Air Balloon, a unique toy that functions as a controllable flying vehicle. When you’re piloting the balloon, your usual action bars change to simple controls for ascending, descending, moving forward, or stopping. Best of all, it can carry up to three other players, allowing almost a full group to enjoy a leisurely flight together. A World of Warcraft player named Zee recently shared footage of this vehicle from the PTR on Twitter.
This toy is already great, but its complete freedom of use makes it exceptional. There are currently no limits to how often or how long you can use it, although the developers could add some restrictions before its official release. Plus, while you need a Pandaren character to initially unlock it, any character – even the new Haranir race coming in WoW: Midnight – can use it.

With this new toy vehicle available, World of Warcraft could potentially add similar mounts in the future. Although it doesn’t handle or move as quickly as the game’s Skyriding system, it’s a fun option for players who enjoy leisurely travel, especially since it can carry multiple characters. Players are already excited about this item and hope to see more balloon-like vehicles with this same mechanic added to the game.
Players can begin working towards this reward now. When Patch 11.2.7 launches, you’ll need a level 50 or higher Pandaren character to start the quest. Reaching this level in World of Warcraft will allow you to immediately begin the Heritage Armor questline and enjoy a hot air balloon ride when the patch releases.
