When all hope appears to be gone, these quirks have a knack for turning the story around at the last minute, snatching victory from the brink of defeat.

  • Episode: 23

Ken Ishiyama, a supporting character from U.A. High School who rarely appears on screen, played a crucial part during the school’s sports festival that many fans may have overlooked. This event featured a major contest where students faced off against each other. Towards the end of the competition, Midoriya Izuku and Todoroki Shoto were set to square off.

In this intense encounter, Todoroki and Midoriya displayed an exciting showdown. However, Todoroki started shaking because he hadn’t utilized his father’s fire ability to warm up, only using ice instead. This led Midoriya to provoke him, pushing him to be more aggressive. Eventually, Todoroki ignited his flames and launched a powerful attack with all his might, which Midoriya countered with full power from One For All. Ken Ishiyama swiftly intervened by constructing enormous concrete barriers to prevent them from causing serious harm. Even so, the force of their clash generated a massive shockwave that nearly destroyed the arena.

  • Episode: 75–77

The struggle unfolds as the Police Force, along with their allies (the Heroes), confront Shie Hassaikai led by Overhaul, in an attempt to rescue Eri and halt the manufacture of bullets capable of erasing one’s superpower. These extraordinary bullets are fabricated using Eri’s Rewind quirk, a unique ability that can reverse time on any object, thereby annihilating the source of a person’s superpower.

In the face of Overhaul’s superior strength, Lemillion was compelled to endure a quirk-neutralizing bullet for Eri. The situation seemed dire until Midoriya and Eri brainstormed a plan to fully utilize One For All without harming Lemillion’s body.

Throughout the intense battle, I found myself relying on Eri’s incredible healing power, which miraculously reversed all the injuries my quirk caused whenever I pushed it to its maximum capacity. This allowed me, Midoriya, to surpass my own limits and effortlessly defeat Overhaul, even in his monstrous form. While I was the one who ultimately saved the day, it’s crucial to acknowledge that Eri’s unique quirk played a pivotal role in my success, as it healed me simultaneously while I was being damaged.

  • Episode: 140

After the Paranormal Liberation War, U.S.A.’s Number One Hero, Star and Stripe, planned to visit Japan to aid All Might, Midoriya, and other Pro Heroes. However, Shigaraki Tomura intervened, fearing that their encounter could lead to disaster. Consequently, a fierce confrontation ensued between the two powerful figures, serving as an exhibition of Star and Stripe’s might and her quirk, New Order.

In a head-to-head battle with Shigaraki, she demonstrated equal strength and had the choice to defeat him by sacrificing an ally. Regrettably, she succumbed to his power, allowing him to seize her quirk and cause her decay. However, before this happened, she summoned the remnant of New Order to eliminate numerous quirks within him, weakening him significantly. As a result, he lost crucial abilities and was compelled to withdraw, hiding himself away; despite Star and Stripe’s demise, she ultimately managed to turn the tide in our favor.

My Hero Academia: Quirks That Unexpectedly Saved The Day
  • Episode: 49

The storyline known as the Hideout Raid Arc unfolded following Bakugo’s abduction by the League of Villains. A band of U.A. students felt compelled to take action and orchestrate a daring rescue, without informing the Pro Heroes initially. However, their plan was thrown into chaos when All For One entered the scene, causing many of them to freeze with fear. Just when all seemed lost, All Might miraculously appeared from the heavens to confront his longtime adversary, despite his weakened state due to injury and dwindling power.

In recognition of this fact, All For One admitted that he’s noticeably slower than before, having anticipated a sooner encounter. Following an intense fight, All Might pushed himself past his limits to execute a powerful United States of Smash attack capable of defeating the villain. However, this extraordinary effort came at a high price, as it drained the last remnants of his quirk’s power. In essence, while All Might’s swift strength was instrumental in saving the day, it did so at a significant cost.
