As a gamer who’s spent countless hours delving into the dark and enchanting world of Hollow Knight, I eagerly await the release of Silksong with all my heart and soul. I remember the first time I faced off against the terrifying Void Entity in the original game, feeling both terrified and exhilarated. If Team Cherry decides to incorporate this fearsome foe into Silksong as a boss fight, it’ll be like reliving that adrenaline rush all over again!

Despite no definite signs of release as of yet, many fans eagerly anticipate Hollow Knight: Silksong, with hints suggesting it might be out soon, such as a Steam backend update and the emergence of its Microsoft Store page in 2024. However, so far, no concrete developments have been made. The prolonged silence from Team Cherry has led to growing frustration among fans, but faith in the quality of Hollow Knight: Silksong remains strong due to the success of the original Hollow Knight. Given its predecessor’s impressive performance, Silksong has garnered a lot of patience from fans.

The upcoming sequel, titled “Silksong,” aims to preserve the outstanding aspects of “Hollow Knight,” such as intricate platforming, thrilling combat, and a captivating, enchanting environment to traverse. In this installment, players will assume command of Hornet, the protector princess of Hallownest and the original game’s adversary, who embarks on an expedition into the new Kingdom of Pharloom. While we don’t yet know what she’ll encounter, given “Hollow Knight”‘s ominous dark fantasy setting, it’s safe to say it won’t be a pleasant journey. In fact, “Silksong” may surpass its predecessor in terms of darkness, contrasting its delicate themes of silk and music with unspeakable horrors that even “Hollow Knight” didn’t allow players to confront.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Could Reach A New Tier Of Bosses

The trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong showcases an attempt to amplify the scale of boss battles, as evidenced by at least one colossal adversary. However, there are other paths they could explore beyond sheer size. Apart from the Radiance and Nightmare King Grimm, Hollow Knight‘s gameplay typically keeps players distant from its world’s most powerful entities. These beings often appear mysteriously, are hinted at, or are found deceased with varying degrees of explanation. Among these elusive figures, one has a more compelling reason for avoiding combat than the others.

Hollow Knight’s Void Entity Explained

In the game Hollow Knight, The Void Entity is a manifestation of pure nothingness that appears in both the true ending and the Godmaster endings. Its ordinary appearance from the base game is called “Void Given Form,” while its more monstrous form in the DLC is known as “Void Given Focus.” Additionally, a cryptic, seemingly deceased creature in the Abyss hints at it being the “Lord of Shades,” which fits given the swarm of Shades that precede its emergence. However, information about this being is sparse, but its intrusion into reality in the default Godmaster ending suggests that it’s too potent and perilous for mortal beings to control.

How Hollow Knight: Silksong Could Incorporate The Void Entity

In the game “Hollow Knight,” the enigmatic Void Entity is undeniably one of the most menacing characters. However, its involvement in “Hollow Knight: Silksong” remains uncertain. The Void Entity played a significant role in vanquishing “Hollow Knight”‘s Radiance and was linked to the void beneath Hallownest, from which the playable Knight was crafted. While it could be overlooked in “Silksong,” it would also be exciting if it appeared as a hidden boss, echoing back to the original “Hollow Knight.” Given that a Void DLC area was mulled over for the initial game, it seems plausible that the sequel might incorporate this idea.

The Void Entity Is An Obvious Bonus Boss Candidate

In all likelihood, this battle might be an optional challenge, subtly tucked away at the map’s lowest point. It could serve as a response to Deepnest within Hollow Knight: Silksong, or it could be located even further down, untouched until Hornet’s arrival. Here, Hornet may encounter the Void Given Form in a battle reminiscent of the Broken Vessel and Hollow Knight encounters from the initial game. As a reward, players might receive an appropriately nostalgic power linked to the Void. However, on Silk Soul Mode, they could revisit this battle for a more challenging phase featuring the Void Given Focus. If executed well, this boss fight could be one of Hollow Knight: Silksong’s most memorable, so let’s hope Team Cherry is open to incorporating some fanservice and grandeur.
