Elden Ring: Best Places To Farm Runes In Limgrave

Elden Ring: Best Places To Farm Runes In Limgrave

As an old-timer in the realm of Elden Ring, I can confidently say that these farming spots are goldmines for any player seeking to amass Runes faster than a storm sweeping across the Lands Between.

Initially, players encountering Elden Ring may find themselves up against a formidable adversary named Margit, the Fell Omen, strategically positioned to surprise unsuspecting adventurers outside Stormveil Castle. As players soon discover, overcoming Margit without undue strain usually requires additional character development, whether through leveling up or honing combat skills.

As a gamer, I gotta grind and farm for some Runes in Limgrave if I want to buy levels from Melina. Luckily, there are several great spots in this region that offer just the right amount of challenge and Rune rewards. So, let’s head out to these locations and follow the instructions for a successful Rune farming session!

In Limgrave, you’ll find a good mix of challenging bosses and useful treasures as your initial base. This area is also inhabited by enemies that aren’t too tough to defeat, offering a decent amount of Runes. If you’re having trouble defeating Margit, The Fell Omen, or Godrick, The Grafted, consider farming for Runes in Limgrave. This will help you level up and give you the strength needed to take on these bosses again.

7 Agheel Lake (Don’t Kill The Dragon)

Up To 600 Runes Per Each Try

As a seasoned adventurer with years of exploring dangerous territories under my belt, I can confidently say that taking on challenges head-on is often the key to success. In my latest quest, I found myself at the edge of Agheel Lake, where a fearsome dragon resides. Many have been deterred by this beast, but I saw an opportunity hidden within the danger.

In this setup, Agheel takes care of the farming tasks for the players. Any action the dragon performs unintentionally causes harm (no pun intended), affecting all minor adversaries. The challenging part lies in evading the flames and long-range attacks from crabs, but with Torrent’s help, it should be feasible to navigate through them.

6 Outside The Third Church Of Marika

1K Runes Per Each Try

In the western part of Limgrave, you’ll find the third Church of Marika, nestled north of the Mistwood Ruins. Generally tranquil, there’s a solitary troll wandering around close to the church ruins’ entrance. Interestingly, these trolls reward you with 1,000 Runes each time you defeat them.

To put it simply, players should exit the Third Church of Marika Site of Grace and eliminate the troll that resides there. Do this repeatedly until you’ve accumulated enough Runes or levels. Although other locations offer more runes, this spot is relatively safe and ideal for honing dodging skills and combat while mounted.

5 Castle Morne Grounds

Up To 1.5K Runes Per Each Try

Within Castle Morne, following the elevator, a group of partially human and aberrant foes, triumphant in their rebellion, are reveling. Atop a heap of debris, several of them congregate, while vicious canines lurk nearby. In the distance, there’s also a Pumpkin Head adversary.

To expedite the clean-up process, call upon some spectral entities to attack. The Pumpkin Head is located too far to engage in combat, but watching these misshapen foes clash in an extraordinary AI battle over and over again is both thrilling and a great way to collect Runes.

4 Castle Morne Ramparts

Up To 2K Runes Per Each Try

Following the clean-up at Castle Morne, players encounter a fork in the path: proceed past the Pumpkin Head adversary or veer right before it. Both paths will lead to the Castle Morne Ramparts. Once you’ve reached the ramparts’ peak, spend some time examining the battlements and search for Castle Morne soldiers engaging in combat with Misbegotten or Demi-Human foes.

As a game enthusiast, I find myself in a scenario reminiscent of the Weeping Peninsula battlefield, where each casualty, friend or foe, rewards me with valuable Runes. The battleground is bustling with combatants on the ramparts, and occasionally, I seize the opportunity to eliminate those flying adversaries while they’re engaged. Making a profit from conflict may not be morally sound, but Melina’s desperate need for Runes—or sugar, as it were—leaves me little choice.

3 Gatefront Ruins Site Of Grace

Up To 2K Runes Per Each Try

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my personal insight about an intriguing location: the place where Melina initially interacts with us players, often found at the Gatefront Ruins Site of Grace. This area is not only significant for our first encounter with her, but it’s also an excellent spot for early Rune farming!

As a keen gamer, I like to strategize by first enticing the giant into a solo duel, leaving the soldiers for later. To the east lies the Gatefront Ruins encampment teeming with lowly soldiers, wolves, and a formidable knight (who can be circumvented). These two potential farming spots are merely steps away from the Site of Grace; if things don’t go as planned, I can easily stroll back to safety and recharge.

2 Troll Caravan Near Waypoint Ruins

Up To 3K Runes Per Each Try

Heading towards Gatefront Ruins, I discovered a path that leads southeast, where you’ll find a bridge across the way. Continuing my journey beyond this bridge, I encountered an intriguing scene: a pair of trolls hauling a massive black wagon. Following closely behind them was Kaiden on horseback, accompanied by some commoners and foot soldiers who seem to be quite frail, succumbing to just one or two hits.

In this scenario, players don’t have to battle the common enemies trailing the convoy. Instead, they can focus on defeating the two chained trolls at the front, which will halt the caravan movement. This provides an opportunity for the players to attack the trolls without interference from the rest of the caravan. The trolls are weakened by their chains and can’t retaliate much beyond a stomp. This fight offers a quick reward of 2,000 Runes. Additionally, slaying the caravan guards will earn an extra 1,000 Runes. Repeating this strategy multiple times could be quite beneficial.

1 South Of Warmaster’s Shack Site of Grace

Up To 4K Runes Per Each Try

Concerning additional giant trolls, Stormhill is an enchanting region teeming with these colossal creatures. Notably, a particular spot, situated south of Warmaster’s Shack, boasts no less than five of these trolls hanging out near a precipice. To add, they are strategically positioned at equal distances to avoid players having to engage multiple trolls simultaneously – although confronting them all at once offers a quicker but riskier approach.

As a gamer, I’d say, “Lure ’em in with tossable knives, take ’em down one by one – that’s 5,000 Runes! Handy tip, Warmaster’s Shack isn’t far and it boasts a Site of Grace. But here’s the catch: don’t try to tangle with these five trolls at night. A Deathbird boss might show up, and that fight can be quite challenging for beginners.”
