Host Noah Waterman will be traveling around New York City, visiting arcades, shops, and other gaming hotspots. New York City is a vibrant hub for all kinds of communities and events, and has a large and active gaming scene. This series will not only showcase cool places for gamers, but also share the stories of the people who make them special.
Game Rant Roadshow: An Extensive Focus on Gaming Culture
In the first episode of Game Rant Roadshow, Noah visits Video Games New York, the largest retro game store in New York City. This independent shop has been a go-to destination for games, consoles, and accessories for over 20 years. They offer a wide variety of merchandise, from popular items to hard-to-find collectibles—you might even find vintage Mario gum from the late 80s! Plus, they have a museum showcasing rare treasures, like a signed, special edition PS3 from Hideo Kojima.
Video Games New York is known as a great retro game store, but they offer much more than just games now. They’ve branched out with a publishing label called Video Games New York Soft, releasing indie games and vinyl records. They also build community by hosting gaming events and even rent out classic gaming equipment for others to enjoy at their own events, giving players a chance to experience games from years gone by.
