The Chained Man puzzle in Tormented Souls 2 is one of the most challenging early in the game. If you’re stuck, here’s a guide to help you solve it.

How to Find Chained Man Puzzle in Tormented Souls 2

You’ll find the Chained Man Puzzle in the Mall area of Tormented Souls 2, after leaving the Convent and arriving in town. Before heading to the Mall, be sure to finish everything in the Convent, including finding the Shotgun, as it’s easy to miss. Once inside the Mall, go down to the basement to find the puzzle.

You can’t miss the chained figure – it’s a striking display. You’ll find it on the walkway immediately to the right of the Video Rental Store, on the lower level.

How to Complete Chained Man Puzzle in Tormented Souls 2

This puzzle is tricky because it requires a lot of back-and-forth before you can solve it. It’s best to complete it last in the Mall area, as it unlocks the path to the next section, the Processing Plant.

First, you’ll need to find the “dojo” gym shop on the mall’s second floor. To get in, you’ll need the Dojo Key, which you can get by solving the Pharmacy Fridge puzzle on the first floor. Once you have the key, go into the dojo gym and find the bathroom in the back.

In the middle of a circle drawn on the tile floor, you’ll find a box cutter. Grab it, and you can use it to cut the duct tape off the pay phone outside – the one that’s ringing on the street.

Once you’ve finished the call, collect the Coins from the machine located at the bottom. Then, head back inside the Mall and go down to the basement to find the Amusement Arcade. Look for the claw machine filled with teddy bears – it will be lit up.

Spend your Coins to play the claw machine. Use the arrow keys and red button to move the claw and try to grab the one-eyed teddy bear on the right side. Line up the pink light on the claw over the bear to pick it up.

After you get the teddy bear, cut it open with the Box Cutter. You’ll find a Gold Ring inside – it’s what you need to help the Chained Man. Once you have the ring, go back to where the Chained Man is – it’s not far from the arcade.

After you reach him, interact with the undead man. Put the Gold Ring on the lower finger of his left hand (as shown in the image). When you do, the chained man will notice the ring, and the entire chained setup will vanish, opening up a new path and a door behind where it stood.

This door takes you to the Processing Plant, which is the next big part of the story. Before you go through, be sure to finish everything you want to do in the Mall and the town nearby.
