On a tiny island east of Long Island, you’ll find a collection of Puzzle Stones. To solve this puzzle, arrange your stone hits in an ascending order based on the number of rocks near each Puzzle Stone (one rock next to one stone, two rocks next to another, and so forth). So, follow this sequence when hitting the Puzzle Stones: 1, 2, 3, and so on.
South, North, West, East
2. Straits Island Puzzle Stones
Six enigmatic stones known as Puzzle Stones are nestled along the western shoreline on Straits Island. Venture towards the island’s southern tip, and you’ll stumble upon a verdant slab – take a closer look at it. The inscription on the tablet reads:
Anti-clockwise
As a fan, I’ve figured out that the sequence to hit the Puzzle Stones is in an anti-clockwise direction, starting from the most southerly stone and moving up the beach. However, since they are submerged, you’ll need to aim your pistol from the shore. Also, unlike the initial Puzzle Stone setup, you’re operating under a time constraint here, so make sure to hit all six stones before the timer expires!
If you create some space before the initial stone, then swiftly fire and dash, you’ll likely be fine. Be sure to maintain a fast pace instead of slowing down after each shot, and you should reach your destination on time.
3. Purvanna Puzzle Stones (Watchcat)
As a gamer exploring Purvanna’s western outskirts, I stumbled upon six intriguing Puzzle Stones nestled near a watchtower guarded by the Watchcat, southward. Each stone bears a Roman numeral from I to VI, suggesting a sequence to activate them in order. But here’s the twist: If you attempt to solve it this way, you’ll soon realize that the solution isn’t as straightforward as it seems.
The solution lies with Watchcat, perched on a northern tower. Make your way there and have a chat. They’ll provide a subtle clue to aid you in solving the riddle.
II, V, III, IV, I, VI
As a seasoned puzzler with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that solving puzzles is one of life’s greatest joys – and this Puzzle Stones challenge looks particularly intriguing! Based on my past encounters with similar puzzles, I strongly recommend following the given order for striking the stones. 4. Purvanna Puzzle Stones (Postmutt)
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my findings: The next batch of Puzzle Stones is located on the eastern side of Purvanna, specifically east of Postmutt. You’ll spot four towering blue stones aligning along the seashore. To solve this puzzle, pay attention to their heights and shoot them in sequence from shortest to tallest. Enjoy the challenge!

5. Code Island Puzzle Stones
To solve this riddle, make your way to Code Island, situated south of the Infinity Tower. It’s a tiny island with five rocks standing tall. As before, we must strike them in the right sequence. These stones resemble the WatchCat Puzzle Stones from Purvanna; they too bear Roman Numerals.
Instead of the confusion surrounding numbers like in Purvanna, you’ll find a straightforward approach here. Just press the Roman numerals I, II, III, IV, and V from 1 to 5 to solve this mystery.
6. Sandy Island Puzzle Stones
At the southwestern edge of the map lies Sandy Island, where you’ll discover an additional four Puzzle Stones. These stones don’t need to be struck in a specific sequence, but rather, you should hit them all swiftly, as a group. Regular weapons might not be fast enough for this task, so a more suitable method would be employing magic.
In case the Flamepurr spell isn’t already installed, make sure to add it to one of your available magic spaces. Once positioned next to the tiniest Puzzle Stone, go ahead and launch the spell. This action will cause you to strike all four stones in a rapid sequence, ultimately unveiling the hidden chest.
7. Polaris Ruins Puzzle Stones 1
In the Polaris Ruins dungeon, you’ll find three distinct groups of Puzzle Stones. You can access these areas only after obtaining the three keys needed for Cat Face Mountain. Once inside the dungeon, you’ll stumble upon your first group of stones arranged in a square pattern quite soon. Strangely enough, hitting any of them appears to be without consequence. Nearby, you’ll see a skeleton by the gate who will inform you: “The secret lies in their silence.”

To solve this, as the note indicates, one of the most straightforward methods is by employing a spell. The least complex spell to utilize here is the Lightwhisker, which generates an orb of electricity at your location. Ensure you stand in the middle among the stones and then invoke the spell. This will set off the Puzzle Stones, consequently opening the gate.
Note: If you don’t have Lightwhisker, go and purchase it from Mage Bonney.
8. Polaris Ruins Puzzle Stones 2
The following Puzzle Stones are located beyond the newly opened gate, right next in the subsequent room. As you navigate through the passageway, a row of three stones on a raised platform to your left will catch your eye, but they’re out of reach. First, eliminate any nearby adversaries before dealing with these stones. Once it’s safe, employ magic again. This process is reminiscent of the Sandy Island Puzzle Stones. To activate all the stones simultaneously, you should cast the Flamepurr spell while standing in their direction and thereby open the gate ahead.
9. Polaris Ruins Puzzle Stones 3
In the adjoining room of the Polaris Ruins lies another arrangement of Puzzle Stones, specifically five of them. Two are positioned to your left and right, while the remaining three are straight ahead. We’ve discovered a straightforward method for solving this: arm your weapon, fire at the stones on both sides, then promptly use Flamepurr on the middle row of stones. If you execute this sequence swiftly, all stones will be activated simultaneously, thereby resolving the puzzle.
10. Sunset Islands Puzzle Stones (8-bit Castle beach)
The Puzzle Stones are scattered over numerous sandy coastlines surrounding the 8-bit Castle located northwest on the map. Thankfully, a helpful notation system using Roman numerals indicates the sequence in which you should tap the stones. To solve the puzzle, start with the stone situated at the northeastern corner as marked in the image provided and proceed moving in a counterclockwise direction.
The challenge you may face, even with a well-planned path, is that the time limit is extremely narrow for reaching the fourth location without the stones deactivating. Speed and cleverness will both be essential. In reality, simply running might not be fast enough, so utilizing your ship to navigate as well could be necessary.
As a victorious gamer, when we scored a hit, I’d anchor my ship snugly next to the initial rock, unleashed a volley of shots, swiftly maneuvered the vessel at top speed towards the second rock lying northwest – a breezy but quicker path compared to running and drifting. I’d fire again at the second rock, then sped westwards towards the fishing net. Upon arrival, I’d abandon ship and dash westward to the beach, then sprinted south to the third stone and struck it. Continuing south, I’d take a right turn at the fork and glided over the tiny beach gap. Following this route, I’d reach the fourth stone just in time.
11. Sunset Islands Puzzle Stones (Northeast)
Located eastward from the primary mountain in the Sunset Islands, you’ll come across a tiny isle adorned with five Mystery Stones. When you tap these stones, it appears that they need to be struck in a specific sequence, but there’s nothing around to indicate the correct order. Interestingly, the solution isn’t situated anywhere near this island; instead, it’s hidden to the west of the main mountain.
To the west lies another island of comparable size, sporting five common stones inscribed with Roman numerals. The sequence indicates which stone to strike back on the Puzzle Stone island.

12. Large Puzzle Stones
In Cat Quest 3, the complete collection of Puzzle Stones isn’t grouped together at a specific spot; instead, they are strategically placed across the entire game map. By following these guidelines, you’ll likely discover where the concealed item is located. Take a close look at the red shrubbery depicted in the image; it’s there that you’ll unearth a Voodoo Doll hidden beneath the sand.

To locate the Necropawmicon, if you haven’t found it yet, search for it in the Twin Towns Manor on the Twin Towns Islands, which can be found in the southeastern part of the map. Navigate through the dungeon of the Twin Towns Manor. You will discover a key in one area that you must use in another section, and this pattern repeats several times to finally reach the final boss. Overcome the Necromouser boss, and the Necropawmicon will be yours as your reward.
Go back to Mage Bonney and present the book to her, but keep it from her hands. Instead, inform her about its potential risks, which intrigues her. She then shares additional details about her mentor, Meowgus. It seems that he transformed himself into the magical crystals you’ve been gathering for upgrading your spells. And as a bonus, you gain access to the powerful Power Up spell.
Step 3 – Discover Meowgus’ secret.
If you interact with Bonney again, she will reveal some key information:

Once you’ve concluded the conversation, Meowgus’ Note will provide you with a hint. Now, what follows is locating and striking the giant Puzzle Stones in the sequence provided.
