A recent update to Borderlands 4 unintentionally disabled a popular feature that helped players easily collect powerful Legendary items. Gearbox has announced they are working on a fix, as many players were upset by the change.
Many players get powerful items in Borderlands 4 by repeatedly fighting bosses in Moxxi’s Big Encore, a mode that lets you quickly respawn them for a fee. Players try to defeat these bosses as fast as possible. Previously, they could reset their character’s ability cooldowns by simply opening a shop found near each boss. However, a recent Borderlands 4 update changed this, and dedicated players quickly noticed the difference.
Borderlands 4 is Fixing Vendor Skill Cooldown Reset
Grant Kao, a creative director at Gearbox, explained that the recent removal of skill cooldown resets after the Borderlands 4 update was a mistake. It happened while they were fixing a separate issue with the camera. He assured players they’re putting the cooldown reset back in, which quickly resolved concerns. Gearbox understands that even though the reset was somewhat accidental, it’s become a vital part of how players collect Legendary weapons.
It’s unclear exactly when the issue will be resolved, but Gearbox is working to bring back the vendor skill cooldown reset relatively soon. They’ve been prioritizing these helpful improvements, and the latest Borderlands 3 patch already included some great quality-of-life changes to enhance the overall game experience. Hopefully, these improvements keep coming!
