This article contains spoilers from One Piece Chapter 1120 and Beyond.

In the popular manga and anime, “One Piece,” the Gorosei, or Five Elders, play crucial roles, particularly during the Final Saga. These characters are among the most formidable within the World Government, surprising many fans who initially perceived them as mere political figures throughout much of the narrative.

As a devoted One Piece fan, I’ve been thrilled to find out that we’ve been harboring an immense power all along! This new revelation promises an even more significant role for us in the imminent story arcs of this epic series. Although it’s already clear they are incredibly powerful, the origin of their strength remains a captivating enigma. Recent developments in One Piece hint that the Five Elders might be linked to Imu, much like Vegapunk is tied to his satellites. The mysteries deepen, and I can hardly wait to unravel more secrets!

The Gorosei – Servants Of The King of The World of One Piece

Saint Shepherd Ju Peter Sandworm
Saint Jaygarcia Saturn Gyuki

As a devoted fan, let me share my take on the Five Elders, particularly Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, who left an indelible mark in the Final Saga. In the grand scheme of things, he was one of the most potent characters introduced early on, being none other than Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. He made his entrance on Egghead, aiming to oust Vegapunk and support the Marines. Given his own formidable scientific skills, Saturn proved invaluable to the team on Egghead, outperforming even Kizaru during the epic clash with the pirates and scientists.

All cursed bloodlines will end right here on Egghead! – Saturn

Audience members witnessed a gathering of the Five Elders on Egghead, where each displayed extraordinary abilities. For example, Nusjuro demonstrated the prowess of a spectral horse made from bones, while Mars unleashed a fiery serpentine bird that soared through the skies. Ju Peter showcased his control over sandworms by creating powerful suction, and Warcury exhibited immense strength and durability akin to a boar. The Elders’ powers were nothing short of extraordinary, and their might was evidently in a league of its own, particularly due to their mastery of Haki.

As a gamer immersed in the One Piece universe, it’s no shocker to me that the Elders possess all three forms of Haki. Fans have long suspected this, given that the Elders serve as Imu’s personal guards. It seems logical that the ruler of this world would surround himself with the strongest deities. Their immense power aligns perfectly with their role.

The Bizarre Powers Of The Gorosei And Their Telepathic Connection

  • The Elders Can Use Telepathy
One Piece: Are The Gorosei Imu's Satellites?

From the start, it was evident that the Gorosei possessed tremendous power, yet something seemed amiss about them. Their aura was eerily demonic, and what left fans puzzled was that Oda never showed they had Devil Fruit abilities. Intriguingly, their introduction card didn’t hint at a Devil Fruit but rather a creature itself. Unlike other characters, Saturn wasn’t revealed as the user of a Gyuki Devil Fruit; instead, he was unveiled to be the Gyuki itself. This twist left many fans perplexed and questioning whether these were ordinary Devil Fruit users due to their peculiar regeneration powers that only added to this mystery.

To put it simply, the Elders who wielded Yokai powers on Egghead could heal instantly from any harm inflicted upon them. No matter if their body was shattered into 100 pieces, beheaded, or cut apart, they would swiftly recover. Despite Luffy managing to outmatch some of the Elders in power, he eventually ran out of strength and ultimately lost the battles he engaged in.

The Elders were suggested to be capable swimmers, although their ability to swim wasn’t directly demonstrated. However, their fearlessness in jumping into the ocean suggests this possibility. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that they all appeared to possess telepathic abilities, enabling them to communicate and complete each other’s thoughts. This unusual talent hints at the possibility that the Gorosei might have additional powers. An intriguing theory is that the Gorosei are manifestations of Imu, similar to how Vegapunk’s satellites represent his multiple personalities.

Imu’s Reaction To Joy Boy’s Haki

Imu Was Hurt By Joy Boy’s Haki Despite Not Being On Egghead

In chapter 1122 of One Piece, fans got a sneak peek at Imu, fueling speculation that the Gorosei might be different manifestations of Imu himself. When Eiichiro “Emet” Oyamada activated Joy Boy’s stored Haki, it swept across the island and struck the Elders, sending them back to Marijoa without harm. However, Imu could sense Joy Boy’s Haki and was affected so profoundly that he fell to his knees, shaking violently. This has led fans to hypothesize that since the Gorosei were hit by Joy Boy’s Haki, its impact may have been transmitted to Imu, who bore the brunt of the force and shook in response. While it hasn’t been verified that they are like Horcruxes, this theory gains more support among fans.

Emet, I’m going to seal the greatest of Haki inside of you! – Joy Boy

What separates Imu from Vegapunk is the fact that none of the Elders seem to hold a distinct part of his personality, which was the case with Vegapunk. Furthermore, what disproves this idea even further is the fact that all the Elders are actually part of the 20 Kings who fought against the Ancient Kingdom. Their family names have officially been revealed to the fans. Together, they form a big chunk of the 20 Families who formed The Alliance. The Ethanbaron family, the Topman family, the Shepherd Family, the Marcus Family, and the Jaygarcia Family are all parts of the royal families. This means that they existed before even the creation of the World Government and Imu’s ascension to the Empty Throne, which fans know wasn’t always the case.

Imu hailed from the Nerona clan, and prior to the establishment of the World Government, he was a member of The Alliance. This implies that he coexisted with certain individuals during their lifetimes, effectively debunking the theory suggesting the Elders served as horcruxes by discarding it altogether.

One Piece: Are The Gorosei Imu's Satellites?

As a long-time fan of this captivating series, I find myself pondering over the origins of these characters’ extraordinary powers. Being immersed in their world for years now, I can confidently assert that there seems to be an undeniable connection between them and the enigmatic figure known as Imu. It appears plausible that it was Imu who imbued them with these abilities, acting as a catalyst for their transformation into beings with awakened Yokai powers.

To expand on this, if indeed the Elders are manifestations of Imu, one would expect them to suffer equally when Imu was in distress, considering they’re lesser forms of the same entity. However, it’s notable that while Imu faltered, the Elders seemed unscathed, implying they are distinct entities rather than mere projections of Imu.
