I usually found them in more technologically advanced areas – often in toolboxes, or on defeated enemies. They also appear randomly in chests and other hidden spots, so searching thoroughly and hoping for good luck is key.

If you don’t want to wait to get Bypass Shunts, you can buy them from vendors for 550 credits each. Because they’re inexpensive, this is often the easiest way to keep a supply. Just keep in mind that vendors and vending machines have limited stock, so you can only buy what they have available.

You can create Bypass Shunts in a couple of ways: either use a workbench, or ask your companion, Niles, to make them for you. If you have the ‘Innovative’ trait, each shunt requires one shiny servo, three scrap metal, and two foil. Remember to break down unwanted items and old equipment regularly to keep a good supply of these materials.
