Oxygen Esports Crumbles, Taking Boston Breach With It

As a long-time follower and admirer of the esports scene, I find myself disheartened by the latest news about Oxygen Esports and Boston Breach. This industry has been my second home for years, providing countless hours of excitement, camaraderie, and even a few job opportunities along the way.

Online sources suggest a significant crisis at Oxygen Esports, the sports group backed by Kraft Sports, known for its teams across various games like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and VALORANT. This company is also the umbrella organization for the Boston Breach team in the Call of Duty League. Unfortunately, this season, their performance in Call of Duty esports has been among the poorest ever recorded.

At the moment, many aspects remain unclear, but it’s reported that Oxygen is planning to dismiss all employees and cease operations. This potential closure could potentially affect Boston Breach as well, since they are scheduled to participate in the Esports World Cup in a short while.

Biting the Dust

In recent times, Oxygen Esports, known for its mediocre performance in the gaming industry, experienced a shocking and abrupt end, which is a significant setback for the sector. Just a few days ago, the Rocket League community was left stunned when the Shift Summer League Playoffs were unexpectedly cancelled moments before they were to start. The reason behind this sudden cancellation has now been made clear: it was due to Oxygen Esports’ impending closure.

According to a report from Dexerto, Boston Breach’s players have announced they were asked to leave the training facility owned by Kraft Sports at Patriot Place. They are scheduled to travel to Riyadh for the Esports World Cup competition, but beyond that, their future with the team is unclear.

As a die-hard fan, I’m eagerly waiting for the decision on our beloved brand’s future, which should be made public by the end of this week. Keep your eyes glued here as I’ll be sharing updates as soon as they come in. In the meantime, I’ve reached out to Oxygen Esports, hoping to get a sneak peek into the developments earlier.
