Roblox Gets Banned In Turkey Over Concerns Of Child Exploitation

As a seasoned parent and digital safety advocate with over two decades of experience under my belt, I find myself once again grappling with the complexities of online platforms and their impact on our younger generations. The recent ban of Roblox in Turkey, due to concerns over child exploitation, is yet another reminder of the challenges we face in this ever-evolving digital landscape.

Roblox has officially been banned in Turkey (Türkiye) over concerns of child exploitation.

On Wednesday, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced on Twitter that the game itself, along with any related connections, have been restricted for public access.

They are the beacon of hope for our future, and their successes will pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.

No other reasons, or further explanation, were given for the game’s ban in the country.

“In all the nations where we’re active, we abide by the local rules and regulations and are equally dedicated to the welfare of children as our lawmakers are. We eagerly anticipate collaborating to swiftly restore Roblox services in Turkey.”

As a dedicated fan, I’ve unfortunately had to confront the issue that child exploitation allegations have surfaced against Roblox yet again. Just last month, a Bloomberg article shed light on the ongoing struggle the company faces in combating predators hiding among players in their gaming platform. This fight, at times, seems like a hard-won battle.
