As a dedicated fan of Black Clover, I can’t help but be captivated by the heartwarming journey of Noelle Silva. Born into royalty with immense magical power, she initially comes off as cold and aloof due to her classist upbringing. However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she meets Asta, the seemingly ordinary Black Bulls member who defies all odds.

Initially appearing haughty in the realm of Clover Kingdom, Noelle Silva – a noblewoman by birth – is reminiscent of an arrogant aristocrat from the Noble Realm. However, beneath her confident exterior lies a diligent teenager still grappling with self-assurance.

Yet, upon the arrival of Asta in her life – someone considered common and lacking any magical abilities – his unwavering resolve to defy naysayers and carve out a name for himself serves as an inspiration for Noelle, encouraging her persistence. This is what fuels Noelle’s strength and determination from Asta.

What Noelle first thought of Asta

Noelle presents herself as a typical noblewoman; however, this facade soon breaks after Asta saves her

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my thoughts about Noelle Silva, the second-born in the prestigious Silva House within the Clover Kingdom. Being a member of such an illustrious family, she inherently possesses formidable magical prowess, particularly over Water Magic. Unlike her kin who serve in the Silver Eagle squad, young Noelle has always struggled to master her magical powers. From the get-go in Black Clover, it’s evident that Noelle boasts immense magic potential, yet her inability to control it often works against her. Reminiscent of Asta, Noelle is resolute on demonstrating to her family and herself that she deserves a place among the honorable Silva lineage.

The first time Asta encounters Noelle, she exhibits the haughty demeanor typical of a noblewoman living in the Noble Realm. Despite this initial impression, Asta doesn’t treat her any differently from anyone else. However, later that night, Asta observes Noelle struggling to manage her Water Magic powers as they seem to malfunction. It is during this moment that Asta, with Captain Yami by his side, uses his Anti-Magic abilities to rescue Noelle.

Instead of belittling or mocking her, Asta commends Noelle for her extraordinary magical prowess and urges her to work hard on mastering it. As a result, when Asta initiated the conversation, the Black Bulls warmly welcomed Noelle, demonstrating that they wouldn’t tease or discriminate against her due to her abilities. Essentially, while Noelle didn’t hold Asta in high regard and thought he was like everyone else, it was Asta who provided the first positive interaction that allowed her to grow more self-assured.

How Asta gave Noelle her courage

Asta is the teammate that inspires Noelle

Consistent with Asta’s character, he is perpetually upbeat and focused on achieving his goals. Although Asta can be quite energetic and sometimes a nuisance, he consistently motivates others to strive for their best. While Captain Yami initially welcomed her into the Black Bulls and gave her an opportunity to showcase her abilities, it was ultimately Asta who provided the final encouragement.

Following Asta’s rescue, Noelle gradually became more comfortable with her fellow Black Bulls, letting go of her past biases. When Asta isn’t out on a mission, he is usually found in training, aiming for self-improvement. This relentless dedication inspires Noelle, as Asta’s eagerness springs from a sincere desire to grow and make a positive impact on those around him.

It’s clear that Noelle is self-improvement-minded too. Yet, Asta plays a significant role in motivating her to excel. Constantly pushing himself due to his lack of magic power, Asta has to work tirelessly compared to others. This struggle of his serves as an inspiration for Noelle, who was born into royalty and possesses immense magical powers. Despite this advantage, she too strives for self-improvement, not wanting to slack in her training and dreaming to fight alongside Asta on equal terms.

How Noelle feels about Asta

Noelle can no longer ignore her true feelings

Black Clover: How Noelle Found Her Resolve in Asta

In the beginning of this game series, I, a noble character named Noelle, wasn’t particularly fond of Asta. His peasant background was a stark contrast to my noble status, making it hard for me to connect with him. But things changed when we faced some challenging situations together. I realized my own inadequacies and found myself needing his help. From then on, I started to put up with him more, even though I’d still call him an ‘idiot’ now and then. Yet, my words didn’t carry any real animosity or disrespect.

Currently, Noelle struggles to acknowledge her affection for Asta, frequently finding herself flustered or embarrassed around him. Regrettably, Asta remains unaware of the feelings many women harbor towards him, as he continues to harbor a crush on Sister Lily. However, in Chapter 301, Noelle comes to terms with her true feelings and realizes she is indeed in love with Asta during their fierce battle against Megicula. Despite this self-admitted love, Noelle has yet to express or act upon her emotions. After a one-year and three-month time leap, Noelle, Mimosa, and Secre bear witness to Asta making his final confession and proposal to Sister Lily.

Despite Noelle confessing her feelings internally, Asta gets taken away for training to the distant land of Hino, leaving everyone uncertain about his survival. Yet, because of her belief in Asta, Noelle continues to hold hope that he’s alive and resolves once more to grow stronger. When Asta is ready, she plans to welcome him back.

Noelle’s strengthens her resolve

Asta may be the catalyst, but Noelle put in all the hard work

In Chapter 300, Noelle acknowledges her fear during her battle against Megicula. Yet, it’s Asta who empowers her with self-belief and determination not to yield. This is due to the fact that Asta consistently bounces back, demonstrating his resilience and disproving others, regardless of the obstacles he faces.

That’s what Asta taught me!!

In a second approach, Noelle finds motivation by focusing on Asta, which empowers her to persevere during challenging times without undermining her own efforts, grit, and determination. Throughout her journey, Noelle has consistently strived for self-improvement and the recognition she deserves from her family. Yet, it was Asta who served as a spark, helping Noelle discover the strength needed to push beyond her boundaries and work harder.

Though she feared Asta may have perished, Noelle nonetheless manages to acquire a powerful Leviathan familiar, boosting her abilities significantly. This underscores Asta’s role as a driving force in Noelle’s life, yet it is her personal resilience and determination that have propelled her this far. Asta served more as the spark igniting her full potential rather than the sole factor behind her progress.
