You can get Ampharosite by defeating Rogue Mega Ampharos in Main Mission 23, located south of . This mission unlocks after you finish Main Mission 20, “A Request from the Rust Syndicate.”

In this mission, players need to go to the Rouge District and team up with Naveen to battle Rogue Mega Ampharos. Once they defeat Gwynn of the Fist of Justice, a holovator to the rooftops – where Rogue Mega is – will open, letting them continue with the mission.

Gwynn’s Pokemon are all Ghost-types, which all have a 2x weakness to Ghost and Dark-type attacks.

How to Reach Rogue Mega Ampharos in Pokemon Legends Z-A

  1. Once the Holovator is activated, use it to teleport to the top.
  2. Turn right and walk in a straight line until you see a Patrat beside some metal scaffolding connected to another rooftop.

  3. Walk across the platform to the other side and climb the ladder right in front of you.
  4. Cross to the next rooftop using the next connecting bridge, or use Roto Gliding to cross the gap.
  5. Destroy the Mega Shards blocking the way and climb the next ladder.

    Turn left to find another metal bridge. Cross it, then turn right, and you’ll see the bright, golden glow of a Technical Machine. This is the Toxic Spikes TM.

    Drop down to the balcony directly to the left of the Toxic Spikes TM.

  6. Walk along the balcony to find another ladder next to some Mega Shards.
  7. Climb it to come face-to-face with the Rogue Mega Ampharos.

How to Defeat Rogue Mega Ampharos in Pokemon Legends Z-A

To really hurt Ampharos in this battle, you’ll need to use Mega Evolution. Specifically, Plus-type moves that are super effective against it are crucial. When Ampharos Mega Evolves, it gains the Dragon type, changing from a purely Electric-type Pokemon to an Electric/Dragon-type. This shift in typing alters its strengths and weaknesses, so be prepared for that change.
