The Division 2 Bans Affect Legit Players, And Ubisoft Is Working On It
The developers of The Division 2 announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they’re fixing a problem caused by a recent system designed to ensure fair play. This system mistakenly affected some player accounts, and the team is working to restore those accounts as quickly as possible. They expect the fixes to be completed within the next few hours.
The development team asks for your understanding while they carefully figure out how to implement the sanctions without harming innocent people.
Dealing with cheaters, whether in competitive or cooperative games, is really frustrating for players. In fact, one study found that half of all gamers have thought about giving up playing altogether because of cheaters, and it’s easy to understand why.
With Ubisoft planning even more content for The Division 2, including the significant Survivors update next year, it’s best to address any current issues now before they become more complicated.
Dealing with cheaters has long been a challenge in online gaming, but developers have made significant progress in recent years. A recent example of this is Battlefield 6, which has effectively banned players using Cronus Zen, a device often used to gain an unfair advantage.
