One Piece: 6 Characters Who Won’t Survive the Elbaf Arc

As a long-time One Piece fan, I have to say, the Elbaf Arc is absolutely delivering! It’s been packed with incredible battles, huge secrets coming to light, and honestly, it feels like one of the strongest arcs we’ve seen in ages – and that’s high praise considering the amazing story so far. Now, with the World Government sending the Knights of God to take over Elbaf, Luffy and the Straw Hats are, predictably, right in the middle of the chaos!

The Elbaf arc has been full of dramatic events, and things are only expected to get more intense before it ends. With the powerful Knights of God involved and so much at stake, One Piece fans should prepare for the possibility of losing some beloved characters who are caught in the conflict. Here are a few characters who are at risk of not surviving the arc.

Jarul

The World’s Oldest Giant’s Time May Have Run Out

Jarul, a former leader of the Giant Warrior Pirates and now the elder of Elbaf, has lived a long and exciting life spanning over 400 years. However, with the Knights of God attacking the island, he finds himself at the center of a dangerous conflict, and his time may be limited.

Jarul has proven he’s willing to make difficult choices to protect innocent people, like when he destroyed the Walrus School and Owl Library to rescue ten hostages – including his great-great-granddaughter, Ylva – from the Knights of God and Saint Sommers. He wouldn’t think twice about risking his own life to save the people of Elbaf. Now, with the dangerous Knights of God causing chaos and Imu ordering Dorry and Brogy – who have undergone the Domi Reveri process – to eliminate Jarul, his time may be running out.

Shepherd Sommers

A Potential Game-Changing Character Death

The Knights of God are having a bigger impact on the events unfolding in Elbaf compared to Wano and Egghead. Currently, Sommers, Gunko, and Killingham are leading the charge for them. Although they’re all very strong, it’s possible one of them might be defeated before the story in Elbaf concludes, and Shepherd Sommers appears to be the most vulnerable.

Sommers has already been defeated in two fights, first by Nico Robin and then by Scopper Gaban. While his immortality – a power shared by all Knights of God – saved him from a finishing blow by Robin, Gaban managed to actually wound him using his powerful Haki. Gaban even cut off Sommers’ arm and severed his head, though Sommers’ healing abilities prevented those injuries from being fatal. However, those attacks did slow down his regeneration. Having lost twice in Elbaf, Sommers seems particularly vulnerable, and if any of the Knights of God are going to be killed in this story arc, he’s likely the one.

Scopper Gaban

A Legendary Pirate On His Way Out?

Gaban, who used to navigate with the Roger Pirates, has really stood out in the Elbaf arc so far. His fight with Sommers clearly showed how incredibly powerful he is – he’s truly earned the nickname “Mountain-Eater.” Even though he’s older, Gaban is still one of the strongest fighters on Elbaf.

The last time we saw Gaban, he was skillfully managing the situation with Sommers on Elbaf, and he likely would have done the same with Gunko. However, Gunko took his son, Colkon, hostage, forcing Gaban to expose himself to protect him. Gunko then attacked, impaling Gaban with arrows and sending him falling into the depths of Elbaf. Luckily, Chopper managed to save him. As long as his family remains threatened, Gaban is vulnerable. The Knights of God are aware of his family ties on Elbaf and have already used that knowledge against him. It’s likely they’ll try to exploit this connection again, and Gaban might not be able to escape unharmed next time.

Jaguar D. Saul

A Tearful Reunion Could’ve Been a Prelude to a Devastating Goodbye

Robin and Saul’s reunion was a particularly touching moment in the series. Fans had been anticipating this meeting for years, as Saul was the one who rescued her during the devastating Buster Call on Ohara. Unfortunately, the heartwarming scene was quickly disrupted by Sommers and the other members of the Knights of God, who were on Elbaf.

Saul was last seen severely injured after a fight with Sommers, left vulnerable to the effects of his Devil Fruit power. He’s protecting Robin, aware of the Knights of God’s ability to revive, but his situation is dire. With Imu arriving in Elbaf and taking control of Gunko, things are looking worse for Saul. As a former Vice Admiral who went against orders and a member of the D. Clan, he could become a target for Imu. Robin may face further hardship, as Saul could either be killed in the upcoming conflict or subjected to Domi Reversi.

Dorry and Brogy

Two Powerful Giants on an Unstoppable Rampage

The attack on Elbaf has been incredibly strong, and everyone expected Dorry and Brogy, the co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, to lead the defense. However, Imu turned them and some of their crew into monstrous beings using his Domi Reversi ability. Now, Dorry and Brogy are tasked with defeating Jarul and claiming the throne of Elbaf, which means they’ll be forced to fight many of their own friends and allies.

Honestly, it’s really worrying me that we haven’t seen any way to escape Imu’s Domi Reversi! We saw in God Valley that even Rocks and his crew were taken down by it, and it took Garp and Roger working together to finally defeat him. A lot of fans, myself included, think Harald might have been affected way back when Loki and Jarul saw him get attacked – it just fits too well. If there’s no way to win against someone under Domi Reversi except to completely defeat them, I’m starting to fear that Dorry and Brogy are in serious trouble, and might not be able to overcome this.
