As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of the Game of Thrones universe, I must admit that I was left a tad disappointed by the finale of House of the Dragon season 2. Having eagerly anticipated this installment after the captivating first season, I felt the finale fell short of the mark set by its predecessor.
The final episode of House of the Dragon season 2 has become known for a disappointing reason – it has the second-lowest rating on IMDb among all shows in the Game of Thrones universe. While there might be various explanations for this poor score, many viewers felt that the finale fell short of their expectations.
The first season of “House of the Dragon” was a massive hit worldwide, praised for its compelling narrative and garnering universal admiration. Furthermore, it earned numerous awards, signaling another success for HBO. As a die-hard fan of the Game of Thrones universe, I must admit that I was quite disappointed with the final episode of House of the Dragon season 2, “The Queen Who Never Was.” Compared to the stellar ratings of its predecessor and the rest of the Game of Thrones series, this finale fell far short.
Although receiving favorable feedback from critics, the final episode of “House of the Dragon” has seen its IMDb score gradually decrease. Out of all users on the review site, approximately 23% gave the episode a single star, while over 20% rated it a perfect 10. Numerous fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the finale’s storytelling and the entire season, claiming that unnecessary scenes were shown during the final episode when glimpses of the war could have been provided instead. Some viewers also felt let down by the lack of twists and turns in the finale, as they had anticipated more surprises. Despite excitement for Season 3 and its portrayal of the war, fans were left underwhelmed by the creators’ chosen storyline direction in this second edition. Apart from Episode 4, only one other episode received a rating of 9 or higher on IMDb.
