Season 1 has kicked off for Battlefield 6, bringing with it the highly anticipated REDSEC Battle Royale mode – and yes, you can now drive tanks! Here’s everything you need to know about how to find one.
Okay, so the new Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale update just dropped, and it’s a big one! They’ve added a whole new Battle Royale mode, plus the usual seasonal stuff like a Battle Pass to grind. Honestly, it feels like Battlefield is really going head-to-head with Call of Duty now, trying to compete directly in that space.
Looking for a tank in REDSEC Battle Royale? Here’s a quick guide on how to quickly get one and improve your equipment.
How to Get Tanks in REDSEC Battle Royale

In REDSEC Battle Royale, you won’t just stumble upon tanks. Instead, you need to complete specific missions to earn the ability to use these powerful vehicles.
In REDSEC Battle Royale, you’ll occasionally see prompts for nearby missions. Completing these missions is a great way to get valuable rewards and experience, especially when you’re first starting out. The weapons and items you earn from missions are often much better than what you’ll find by searching for loot.
As a player, I’ve figured out you can only work on one mission at a time. Each time, you get three random missions to pick from. Right now, it seems totally luck-based whether you’ll get a mission that gives you a tank as a reward – there’s no way to force it. But I’ll definitely update this guide if I find a way to guarantee getting that tank!
Be sure to check the rewards you get from completing missions, especially for a ‘Vehicle Keycard’. We found that these keycards showed up as ‘Superior’ loot – they had a golden background, so they were easy to spot as the best possible reward. Here’s a simple explanation of how it all works.
- Check your missions for rewards that provide a Vehicle Keycard.
- Complete the designated mission with your squad to collect your rewards and pick up the Vehicle Keycard.
- Head to the Garage marked on your map.
- Use the Vehicle Keycard to earn access to a tank.
Vehicle Keycards might appear as random rewards in Battlefield REDSEC, but we haven’t confirmed this yet. We’ll share an update as soon as we have more information.
Keep in mind that this technique works only for the regular game modes in Battlefield. Experiences built by the community using Portal might function differently—for example, players could design a Battle Royale mode where everyone uses tanks, making them incredibly powerful.
